“…Tmax (h) Cmax (ng/mL) T 1/2 (h) AUC (0-t) (ng h/mL) AUC (0-∞) (ng h/mL) MRT (0-t) (h) CL/F (L/h kg) C max at 8-12 h and declined quickly, as was reported by Tong et al [20]. Evidence was provided that glucuronidation, enteric circulation and enterohepatic circulation may contribute to the biphasic pharmacokinetics [12,13,21].…”

“…One reason is that the in vivo dose is underestimated, given that rhein can be biotransformed from aloe-emodin (16), another DCQD component not quantitated in this study. Another reason is that although hesperidin is the most abundant compound in DCQD, it shows poor water solubility like many other flavonoids, leading to poor bioavailability (17). Magnolol showed similar behavior: although it was present with rhein at a 1.33:1 (w/w) ratio in DCQD extract, its serum concentration in rats was only 5.739 ± 1.888 g min/ml based on the AUC from t = 0 to the final time point.…”

“…Linearity was achieved between 100 and 10,000 nM for racemic hesperetin in urine and between 50 and 5000 nM for (S)-and (R)-hesperetin in urine. In another study, Tong et al determined naringin, hesperidin, neohesperidin, naringenin and hesperetin in rat plasma using liquiritin as the internal standard [171].…”
