Introduction: Simulation strategy is a modern technique for teaching nursing around the world. One of its many benefits is the implementation of pre-prepared situations in a safe environment. The introduction of simulation into theoretical training is beneficial for students, lecturers, and the faculty. Goal: To investigate the effectiveness of the simulation process for teaching nursing. Methods: This paper is a literary review. It is processed using a four-step system. We used the acronym PECOT. We used online platforms for the research, such as PubMed, Web of Science, Science Direct, EBSCO, and Scopus. We visited the Academic Library of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice and the National Library in Prague. Results: We identified 7 studies (four experimental studies, two review studies and one quantitative-exploratory study) and included them in our study. The simulation process is considered a highly effective teaching method, which benefits the students, lecturers, and the faculty. Conclusions: The simulation process is one of the modern techniques of teaching nursing. The mentioned results indicate a high level of teaching effectiveness using this method. In all registered cases, the simulation strategy is assessed as more effective than other methods used so far, such as frontal teaching, video demonstrations, or simple demonstrations.

History and challenges of clinical simulation in the learning of procedural skills by nursing studentsProcedural skills are essential in the nursing profession and should be acquired during undergraduate training according to new regulations. Clinical simulation is a good alternative to teach such skills. During COVID pandemic, face-to-face learning activities were reduced to a minimum amount, thus hampering the use of clinical simulations. Since simulations should adapt to the new scenario, their virtual implementation appears as an alternative. The latter should become an important teaching tool while restrictions in mobility last. We herein review the evolution of clinical simulation as a teaching tool and to determine its future challenges.

Pedagogical accuracy influences the development of instructional methods to guide and assist instructors in carrying out their roles, which has an impact on teaching and learning. Unfortunately, it appears that there is a lack of commitment in Ghanaian nursing education to making provisions for the use of accurate instructional methods in health training institutions which compel nurse educators in public nursing training colleges to use outdated models and conduct clinical skills in classrooms using instruments from the skills laboratory. We argue in this paper that the theory-practice gap is growing in nursing and is not getting the attention it deserves. We observe that nursing education has evolved, and the use of antiquated techniques in developing the clinical skills of the nurse trainee should give way to a method that takes advantage of modern technology. The data for this paper were gathered from secondary sources and the experiences of nurse educators using the desk review approach. The study concludes that public nursing training colleges concerned with providing high-quality nursing education should invest in simulated practical teaching in a high-quality laboratory.
