The centerless belt grinding machine that was previously designed at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Universitas Trisakti can be used for finishing machining products. However, it is not yet known how the machine will perform on the geometric characteristics of the product as a result of the finishing process with a centerless belt grinding machine. The geometric characteristics here are the results of measurements in cylindricality, roundness, and surface roughness. This research aims to determine the machine's performance and whether there are significant differences in the centerless belt grinding finishing process. Control chart analysis is used to determine the consistency of engine performance, and a comparison of the feed speed is used to determine engine performance. Next, data processing was carried out using the paired sample t-test statistical test to determine whether there were significant differences between the turning and milling processes. The consistency test results indicated good performance achieved at a maximum speed of 25.47 mm/minute (angle 12°) for cylindrical, roundness, and surface roughness measurements. The statistical test results of the paired t-test between the turning and grinding processes showed significant differences, as indicated by the P-value (0.00) < ∝ (0.05) on cylindricality, roundness, and surface roughness.

Good inventory management can plan, control, and manage the company's inventory to consumer demand. Poor inventory management has a significant impact on the company. Excess raw materials will affect high inventory costs, and a lack of raw materials will impact dissatisfied consumers. Therefore it is necessary to have a valid inventory policy. This research aims to minimize PT XYZ's inventory costs using the Continuous Review and Periodic Review methods. The research was conducted by taking data from PT XYZ and then doing ABC analysis, normality test, Continuous Review and Periodic Review methods, and sensitivity analysis. The results showed that the most optimal inventory policy for minimizing inventory costs is the continuous review method (s, S). The results of this study can be used as a reference in determining inventory policies to minimize costs. Manajemen persediaan yang baik mampu merencanakan, mengendalikan, serta mengelola persediaan perusahaan terhadap permintaan konsumen. Pengendalian persediaan yang buruk sangat berdampak bagi perusahaan. Kelebihan bahan baku akan berdampak pada tingginya biaya persediaan dan kekurangan bahan baku akan berdampak pada tidak puasnya konsumen. Oleh karena itu perlu ada kebijakan persediaan yang tepat. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meminimasi biaya persediaan PT XYZ menggunakan metode Continuous Review dan Periodic Review. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengambil data dari PT XYZ lalu dilakukan analisis ABC, uji normalitas, metode Continuous Review dan Periodic Review serta analisis sensitivitas. Hasil penelitian didapatkan kebijakan persediaan dalam meminimasi biaya persediaan yang paling optimal adalah Metode continuous review (s,S). Hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai acuan dalam menentukan kebijakan persediaan untuk meminimasi biaya.

The production of high-quality castings without foundry defects at minimal production costs is a constant priority for foundries. Innovation and optimization of production processes are key to achieving this goal. Computer simulation of foundry processes offers a modern alternative to expensive and time-consuming experiments in real foundries and provides a reliable representation and analysis of casting and solidification processes. A detailed analysis of the casting and solidification simulation results allows the prediction of various risks that can cause defects in cast castings, thereby reducing their quality and, last but not least, the cost of their production. This paper deals with the analysis of a computer simulation of the casting of a brake disc in a Slovak foundry. This brake disc has had shrinkages and micro shrinkages that reduce the internal quality of the casting. These defects occurred in the ribs in the upper part of the casting under the feeders. A computer simulation of the casting and solidification of this casting was made according to the real conditions. It turned out that the designed gating system with a system of feeders was not sufficient to eliminate the emerging defects. A new layout for the feeders was proposed, which ultimately eliminated the occurrence of defects based on the results of the computer simulation. The input parameters were set to be as close as possible to the actual needs of the foundry. Moreover, 3D models of the assemblies were designed in SolidWorks Premium 2015 x64 Edition CAD software, and the filling and solidification simulations were performed using the NovaFlow & Solid CV 4.6r42 simulation program.
