Semitransparent Perovskite Solar Cells with Dielectric/Metal/Dielectric Top Electrodes

Abstract: A semitransparent perovskite solar cell (PSC) with a dielectric/metal/dielectric (DMD) multilayer film as the top transparent electrode is investigated. Through adjusting the thickness and the deposition rate of Ag and WO3 layers, a transparent electrode with a low sheet resistance of 7 Ω sq−1 and high average visible transmittance (AVT) of 73% in the visible wavelength range of 400–800 nm is obtained. Using the resultant DMD film as the top transparent electrode and different bandgap perovskites of CH3NH3PbI3… Show more

“…Besides TCOs, electrode materials that have been utilized in other types of flexible solar cells may also be suitable for flexible NIR transparent PSCs. These electrodes include conductive polymers, 63 thin metallic layers, 64 a stack of a dielectric-thin metallic layer-dielectric (DTD) structure, 65 transparent carbon-based electrodes (graphene 30 and nanotubes 66 ) and silver nanowires, etc. with an average transmittance of 78% between 800 and 1000 nm and a PCE of 12.2% on an area of 0.213 cm 2 (Fig.…”

“…The DMD structures in ST‐PSCs have been similar to those in ST‐OPVs. [ 33,45,48,49,73,74,78,79,117–122 ] For example, Hanmandlu et al introduced a 2,9‐dimethyl‐4,7‐diphenyl‐1,10‐phenanthroline (BCP)/Ag/MoO 3 transparent electrode for bifacial PSCs (Figure 2d). [ 79 ] In addition to providing a high dielectric constant, the BCP also functioned as a diffusion buffer layer between the electron transport layer (ETL) and the Ag electrode.…”

“…Xie et al reported an ST‐PSC having a MoO 3 /Ag/WoO 3 electrode, with the WO 3 enhancing the transmittance in the long wavelength region (Figure 2f). [ 33 ] Their best device featured FA 0.5 MA 0.38 Cs 0.12 PbI 2.04 Br 0.96 as the active layer and provided a PCE of 13.16% and an AVT of 16.55%.…”
