Furthermore, as cortisol levels peak between eight and nine in the morning (Debono et al., 2009), and cortisol is known to influence both memory performance in older adults (Hidalgo, Almela, Pulopulos, & Salvador, 2016) and epileptic activity (van Campen et al., 2015, van Campen et al., 2016), future studies should use testing time-points that fall outside the cortisol response peak.
