Scale Breaking and Anomalies in Deep Inelastic Lepton Scattering

Abstract: corrected ratio could be as large as 6 xlO"^, implying a trimuon branching ratio on the order of 3 xlO"^ (by assuming a decay branching ratio of 0.1). The neutrinoand muon-induced trimuon branching ratios are, therefore, roughly the same. This strongly supports our view that both result from the same underlying mechanism, namely, the associated production of a pair of hadrons carrying new quantum numbers, such as charm. We thank Professor K. W. Chen for a discussion of the experimental results. 339Rev.
