Latar belakang: Perlindungan terhadap anak-anak dari bahaya merokok penting untuk dilakukan, karena anak-anak berpeluang untuk menjadi perokok aktif dan pasif. Tidak hanya di perkotaan, anak-anak di pedesaan juga memiliki peluang yang sama untuk terkena penyakit akibat rokok. Analisis situasi di SD N Jembrak Kecamatan Pabelan Kabupaten Semarang menunjukkan bahwa para siswa membutuhkan informasi tentang bahaya asap rokok bagi kesehatan mereka. Tujuan: para siswa mengetahui bahaya asap rokok bagi kesehatan, sehingga dapat melindungi dari dari bahaya asap rokok. Metode: Edukasi kesehatan menggunakan media komik ASETARO, yang diawali dengan pre-test dan diakhiri dengan pos-test dan tanya jawab. Pre-test dan post-test digunakan untuk evaluasi hasil edukasi. Hasil: Para siswa menyukai edukasi melalui komik ASETARO karena mereka memperoleh informasi secara menyenangkan melalui gambar-gambar yang menarik dan mudah dipahami. Pada hasil pre-test hanya 8% siswa yang memperoleh nilai pengetahuan dalam kategori baik, namun pada hasil post-test telah meningkat menjadi 83%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa setelah memperoleh informasi tentang bahaya asap rokok melalui komik ASETARO pengetahuan siswa mengalami peningkatan. Kesimpulan: Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat menggunakan media komik ASETARO pada siswa di SDN Jembrak Kecamatan Pabelan Kabupaten Semarang mengenai bahaya asap rokok dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan sasaran.

The study examines tobacco control policies of Indonesia, national and international players, the role of political elite and social demography of smoking. The analysis explains the relation of national and international players associated with the tobacco industry, interest of local community, structural and political powers that limit the legislation on tobacco control. The current situation of smoking and tobacco use in the social system of Indonesia is alarming. Indonesia is the working ground of different multinational brands that have industries and production units of cigarettes. The economic perspectives of the tobacco industry involvement of government and political powers in this industry make it more complex. The study is based on qualitative sources that are evaluated for the tobacco industry and its implications on Indonesian society. The results provide a comprehensive overview of the tobacco industry and the role of different actors that can be regularized by imposing strict legislation. The study also provides recommendations to manage the tobacco industry that will guide the corrective path of reducing tobacco culture in the society.

Adolescence is a time when individuals are easily inﬂuenced by the environment. One of the environmental exposures during adolescence is the use of cigarettes. Not many teenagers are able to cope with environmental inﬂuences, thus creating a sense of conformity to smoking. The cause of adolescents not being able to overcome conformity is a lack of self-control when in situations that trigger smoking. The purpose of this study is to reduce smoking behavior in adolescents by increasing self-control when in situations that trigger smoking. Subjects consisted of four teenagers aged 16 -18 years old. The assessment method used are interview, observation, Glover-Nilsson Smoking Behavior Questionnaire (GN-SBQ) and self-report. The intervention technique used is group self-control therapy. The results of the intervention showed a gradual decrease in smoking behavior after each group member was able to apply self-control techniques when in situations that trigger smoking. The decrease in smoking behavior can occur because with self-control, each subject in the group can control the sense of conformity that triggers the subject to smoke.
