Rheometric and Dynamic Mechanical Analysis of Complex Natural Rubber Based Composites

Abstract: This work describes the preparation and characterization of complex natural rubber (NR) based composites containing hybrid nano-and conventional fillers intended for base seismic application. Thorough rheometric and dynamic mechanical analyses in strain sweep mode at 2 Hz and 10 Hz (two frequencies laying in the range 0 -15 Hz in which most of the earthquakes have the dominant frequencies) were performed on complex natural rubber (NR) based composites containing hybrid nanofiller (carbon nanotubes, expanded mo… Show more

“…However, the Tc 90 values are sufficient for the vulcanization of blends. Also, when the NBR percentage is increased, the Tc 90 of blends has increased due to the degree of unsaturation of NBR that is lesser than NR (Ivanoska et al, 2017). The cure rate index of NR/NBR blends is reduced when the NBR proportion is increased and according to the literature, this is due to faster vulcanization of NR than NBR where the degree of unsaturation of NR is higher than NBR which contains different proportions of acrylonitrile (Ivanoska et al, 2017).…”
