The impact of human economic activities on individual natural components or whole geosystems has caused a global environmental crisis and continues to change the surface of the planet beyond recognition. New biospheric thinking is required to overcome the existing threats. For that purpose, the new generation shall possess high ecological culture. The article aimed to examine the problem of formation and development of environmental competence of students based on project technology. The conducted research allowed students to independently identify environmental problems with the help of project technology. Practical development in the form of project tasks contributes to the formation of environmental competence in future biology teachers. The effectiveness of the proposed training technology is confirmed by the results of experimental work. The article focuses on the relationship between the use of employee training and development and the competency-based approach. The objective of this article is to evaluate the use of the competency-based approach in employee training and development in organisations in the Czech Republic based on long-term research (n = 1,360) since the year 2013. The results showed that the competency-based approach in the management of organisations is utilized by only 21.8% of the organisations. An important finding is that 93.2% of organisations using the competency-based approach support employee training and development. The results confirmed that there is the relationship between the use of the competency-based approach and training and development in the organisation (p < 0.001, Cramer’s V = 0.178) and also between the use of the competency-based approach and evaluation of training and development efficiency in the organisation (p < 0.001, Cramer’s V = 0.299).

Educational and training institutions that ensure successful learning and diverse working life must implement problem-oriented analyses of the education system and form future self-education and positive activity skills of the individual. The article deals with historical trends in the development of educational institutions such as lyceums and gymnasiums in Kazakhstan. Data collection was in two parts. The first data collected was secondary data and it was used to analyze the current situation in education. The detailed theoretical analysis of literary sources reveals the peculiarities of formation of the structure of functioning of educational institutions, the analysis of the tendencies of implementation of innovative educational programs in the system of education is carried out. The primary data was collected using an experiment. Based on the data obtained as a special elective course for undergraduate students, the article describes the recommendations aimed at changing the educational system to deepen the historical and pedagogical peculiarities of the development of educational institutions of students.
