The life of society, along with the development of the times, makes the problems that occur in life also develop. The development of complex problems makes science necessary to adapt to the conditions that occur in society. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explain Adinugraha's thoughts: textual and contextual approaches to understanding Islamic studies to deal with life's problems. Methodology: The method used in this research is library research with a descriptive qualitative approach. The type of research used is character studies that examine Adinugraha's thoughts. This data collection technique takes sources from Adinugraha's journals and other journals that are relevant to this research. Results: The results of his research explain that Islamic studies are used as a guide in everyday life in society and in dealing with problems. To comprehend Islamic studies, an approach is required, among which are textual and contextual approaches.In essence, the textualist group is more concerned with the outward meaning of the text. while the contextualist group develops reasoning about the context of the text. It should produce a comprehensive interpretation in Islamic studies by using textual and contextual approaches to interpreting revelation. Based on this explanation, textual and contextual approaches can be used to understand Islamic teachings. Therefore, ideally, a comprehensive interpretation must be carried out using a combination of two approaches at once, namely the textual and contextual approaches. Keywords: 1. Adinugraha Thought 2. The pandemic of Covid-19 influences the behaviour of worship places in doing their accountability. Indeed, it is difficult to trace the truth of the source and amount of the donated funds. The study's objective is to explore the accountability mechanisms of places of worship by exploring them in the context before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study is also to explore the religiosity and humanistic side of financial managers in running their duties at the mosque. This research is qualitative research using a phenomenological approach with semi-structured interview methods. This study found that accountability before and during the pandemic has a similar practice in terms of financial accountability. Interestingly, an increasing source of funds was found during the pandemic. There is additional shopping for Wi-Fi to support the mosques’ activities. The accountability of mosque financial management consists of religious (self-connection with God) and humanism (honest, trusting and responsible). The purpose of this study is to reveal how the financial report accountability model of the Probolinggo district mosque actually is. In addition, this study also seeks to elaborate on the concept of maqashid sharia as part of the reference in realizing financial reporting accountability. This research is qualitative research with an interpretive paradigm of a phenomenological approach. The data source for this research is the primary data source obtained from three key informants, and the results of field observations and supported by other literature data. The results of the study show that the accountability of the financial reports of the Great Mosque of Probolinggo Regency has been well managed through the input, process, and output stages starting from planning, implementing, organizing, and controlling. But sometimes, the implementation process is not optimal. The practical implication is the accountability of financial reports with the five principles in the maqashid sharia concept, namely hifdz ad-din, hifdz an-nas, hifdz al-aql, hifdz al-mal, and hifdz an-nasb can overcome several obstacles that are useful to produce better accountability again in the future. The theoretical implications of this study contribute new understanding to explain and improve existing theories regarding the concept of mosque accountability.
