Research of RC columns strengthened by carbon FRP under loading

Abstract: The usage of carbon fiber-reinforced polymers (FRP) are described as modern methods of strengthening for reinforced concrete constructions. The advantage of these materials are the great corrosion resistance to environmental factors, high stiffness and strength and weight in comparison with other materials. The disadvantage of relatively high cost is offset by the cost reduction and labor when performing work on strengthening, by decreasing of performance time, by lack of needs to use the expensive equipment, … Show more

“…Traditional method of strengthening, using reinforced concrete jacketing, is needed longterm assembling, significant increasing dimensions and bigger self-weight [Krainskyi P. et al 2018a.]. Strengthening with CFRP has good adhesion and collaboration between main and adding elements but materials are faster jacketing [Blikharskyy Y. et al 2018], with values close to strengthening with RC [Krainskyi P. et al 2018b.]. Resistance to corrosion, high tensile strength, low weight, easiness and rapidity of application are such characteristics that have contributed to the spread of the strengthening technique characterized by bonding of carbon fibers reinforced polymer (CFRP).…”

“…The RC constructions are mostly useful at the world [1][2][3][4][5]. However, there are some disadvantages of this constructions [6][7][8][9][10][11][12]. In this case, are a lot of researching for strengthening this constructions [13], also for improving shear strength.…”

“…In particular the investigations of special mineral additives like zeolite should be noted, which improve durability and corrosion resistance of cements for concrete (Sobol et al, 2014). Many factors cause necessity for the repairing or strengthening (Blikharskyy et al, 2018;Khmil et al, 2018;Krainskyi et al, 2018a;Abu-Tair et al, 1996;Vegera at al., 2018) buildings and constructions. Often it is damages (Kos et al, 2017) or corrosion (Selejdak et al, 2018;Lipiński, 2017;Pliszka and Radek, 2017) of construction obtained during its lifetime from negative environment influence.…”
