Reprodução de peixes (Osteichthyes) em afluentes do reservatório de Volta Grande, Rio Grande, Sudeste do Brasil

Abstract: Plagioscion squamosissimus and Pimelodus maculatus do not have reproduction activity in the area, they just use the creeks to food and growth. Myleus tiete and Astyanax bimaculatus use the area to reproduction whereas A. fasciatus uses it to reproduction, food and growth. KEYWORDS. Reproduction, Volta Grande dam, reservoir.

“…Our results contrast with other studies in which these species exhibited greater reproductive intensity during the hottest and rainiest months of the year (Braga, 2001;Carnelós & Benedito-Cecilio, 2002;Luiz, Velludo, Peret, Filho, & Peret, 2011;Barbosa et al, 2012). For C. monoculus the statistical analysis showed that the species did not reproduce throughout the year, but showed a long reproductive period that was not markedly seasonal.…”

“…No entanto, a maioria dos estudos realizados com Astyanax encontrou uma reprodução sazonal ocorrendo na primavera e verão do hemisfério sul (entre setembro e março), com duração variando entre quatro e seis meses (NOMURA, 1975;BARBIERI et al, 1982BARBIERI et al, , 1996AGOSTINHO et al, 1984;RODRIGUES et al, 1989;BRAGA, 2001;ABILHOA, 2007).…”

“…Regarding the marine and estuarine species, information on the population dynamics is restricted to specific areas of the Amazon Estuary, considering a few species, such as Scomberomorus brasiliensis, Macrodon ancylodon, Cynoscion acoupa, Sciades parkeri, Cathorops spixii, Stellifer rastrifer, S. naso and Aspredo aspredo (Camargo & Isaac, 1998;Espírito Santo & Isaac, 1999;MMA, 2006). With regards to freshwater sciaenids, some studies on ecology and population dynamics are mainly available for the cogeneric species, the white hake, P. squamosissimus (Rodrigues et al, 1988;Braga, 1997Braga, , 2001Castro, 1999;Carnelós & Benedito-Cecilio, 2002;Stefani et al, 2005;Bennemann et al, 2006). In relation to P. magdalenae, only some information is available on the population parameters in the middle Xingu (Carmargo & Giarrizo, 2009).…”
