Reliability Test Platform for High-Speed Motorized Spindle Based on Magnetic Loading

Abstract: In order to accurately emulate the operation conditions of high-speed motorized spindle in the reliability experiment, a dynamic loading system is proposed. This system allows simultaneously loading torque, radial and axial force against the spindle. The torque load is carried out by the electric dynamometer; the non-contact vibration exciter completes the radial load; the axial load is carried out by a self-made electromagnet. Moreover, this system also can detect out the basic features and failure data of th… Show more

“…To improve AHP method, FAHP has been proposed. [31][32][33][34][35] In FAHP, 1-3 levels scale is used to construct the judgment matrix; so, experts can easily make the decision that which one has a higher priority between two indexes. Experts' fuzzy priority judgment matrixes can be directly transformed to fuzzy consistent matrixes, so there is no need for consistency check or adjustment.…”

“…Guo et al [26,27] presented a multiaxis loading device (MLD) to simulate the loading condition of an operating feeding system of a machine tool in a real machining process. Hu et al [28] designed a reliability test rig based on a power dynamometer and piezoelectric loading device to conduct dynamic loading tests of the motorized spindle. Being restricted to the displacement of piezoelectric ceramics, it is hard to meet the rotation characteristic of the high-speed motorized spindle.…”

“…Meng (2012) identified a contact loading for HSMSs using an improved asynchronous dynamometer. Hu et al (2012) designed an HSMS reliability testbed based on dynamometer loading. However, dynamometers will generate abundant frictional heat and physical deterioration during high-speed rotation.…”

“…However, dynamometers will generate abundant frictional heat and physical deterioration during high-speed rotation. When the rotational speed is over 20,000 rev/min, there are increased equipment vibration and noise (Hu et al, 2012). Hence, it is difficult for the dynamometer method to ensure the stable running of an HSMS under a loaded operation.…”
