Regulating of cell cycle progression by the lncRNA CDKN2B-AS1/miR-324-5p/ROCK1 axis in laryngeal squamous cell cancer

Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the function of long non-coding RNA ANRIL (CDKN2B-AS1) in laryngeal squamous cell cancer (LSCC), and to explore the underlying mechanism. Methods: The expression levels of CDKN2B-AS1 in LSCC tissues and cell lines (Tu177, HN4, AMC-HN-8 and NP69) were determined by reverse transcription quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR). AMC-HN-8 cells were then transfected with siRNAs of CDKN2B-AS1. The effects of CDKN2B-AS1 on cell proliferation, cell cycle, and apoptotic protein were determined by CCK-8 assay… Show more

“…The relationship between miR-324-5p and ANRIL has been investigated in laryngeal squamous cell cancer, in which highly expressed ANRIL promoted overall survival, advanced clinical stage, and lymph node metastasis. 11 Consistent with previous studies, 11 our study revealed that the modulation of ANRIL on ovarian cancer was mediated by sponging miR-324-5p. Most of the aforementioned studies demonstrated that miR-324-5p suppressed cell growth and migration.…”

“… 28 miR-324-5p was proved to exert tumor-suppressive functions. 29 Decreased miR-324-5p was observed in laryngeal squamous cell cancer, 11 lung cancer, 30 , 31 breast cancer, 32 gastric cancer, 33 cervical cancer, 34 bladder cancer, 35 and colon cancer. 36 , 37 miR-324-5p inhibited the Warburg effect and repressed tumorigenesis of ovarian cancer.…”

“…18 LncRNA CDKN2B-AS1 sponges miR-324-5p to regulate cell-cycle progression in laryngeal squamous cell cancer. 19 Previous studies also revealed LINC00173 was a sponge for some miRNAs, such as miR-490-3p and miR-218. 13,14 In our study, we did not observe LINC00173 sponges above miRNAs.…”

“…lncRNA CDKN2B antisense RNA 1 (CDKN2B-AS1), which is an antisense of the cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2B (CDKN2B), plays important roles in various diseases including in cancers [15][16][17][18] . Zhu et al reported that interference of CDKN2B-AS1 restrains the metastasis and promotes apoptosis and senescence of cervical cancer cells via regulating miR-181a-5p/TGFβI axis.…”
