The article is devoted to the consideration of youth and youth policy as factors of terrorism in the 21st century. The authors have identified factors that increase the effectiveness of recruiters of terrorist organizations in attracting young people, as well as formulated and justified the principles of improving the effectiveness of youth policy in the framework of anti-terrorist activities of the authorities. According to the authors, an important factor in the radicalization of young people is the low level of education in the country. The authors draw attention to the fact that the low level of education does not create opportunities for the development of young people. This, in turn, leads to a radicalization of the relationship between the authorities and students. If graduates are unable to find jobs that meet their expectations, then the risk of radicalization of young people increases. A good education not only allows the state to train qualified specialists, which effectively affects the social and economic development of society. Specialists in demand do not belong to social groups prone to violent and radical actions in relation to other citizens, both within the country and abroad. Therefore, it is necessary, on the one hand, to develop educational programs that allow college and university graduates to be in demand in the labor market, constantly improve their skills, and increase the level of knowledge. On the other hand, it is necessary to develop students' skills, such as critical thinking, creativity, respect for the institutions of society, and skills in solving social and professional problems.

Women experiencing homelessness (WEH) are a marginalized group who often lack support services, leading them to adopt alternative survival strategies that leave them at risk of being victimized and becoming involved with the justice-system. To better understand this problem, we analyzed the adaptive strategies Canadian WEH use to survive. Comparing the life histories of WEH who turned to criminal activities ( n = 4) with WEH who demonstrated prosocial resilience ( n = 4) makes it possible to identify protective and risk factors for criminal behavior and to propose adaptive strategies that can be used to support these women to adopt a prosocial lifestyle. The results provide a framework for understanding the needs of WEH, filling a gap that results from the focus on men needs in most scientific literature and by many resources, and suggesting that meeting those needs may reduce the likelihood that WEH will become involved with the justice-system.

La recherche sur la désistance et la désistance assistée porte majoritairement sur une population adulte. L’étude de la désistance des adolescents et jeunes adultes est relativement récente, et doit être approfondie afin de mieux comprendre les mécanismes sous-jacents aux sorties de la délinquance au sein de cette population. L’objectif de cette étude de cas unique est, à partir du récit du sujet à propos de sa trajectoire, d’identifier les composantes émergentes qui soutiennent son processus de désistance. Les entretiens menés avec ce jeune de 18 ans, lui ont permis d’énoncer et d’élaborer ses réflexions, dans un contexte de recherche menée sous la méthodologie IPA, et de la sorte, de verbaliser et de conscientiser les mécanismes qui contribuent à son évolution dans le processus de désistance. Ceux-ci peuvent être intégrés à la prise en charge des mineurs auteurs de faits qualifiés infractions.
