Recent Advances in Extraction and Stirring Integrated Techniques

Abstract: Abstract:The extraction yield of a microextraction technique depends on thermodynamic and kinetics factors. Both of these factors have been the focus of intensive research in the last few years. The extraction yield can be increased by synthesizing and using novel materials with favorable distribution constants (one of the thermodynamic factors) for target analytes. The extraction yield can also be increased by improving kinetic factors, for example, by developing new extraction modes. Microextraction techniqu… Show more

“…Monolithic solids containing magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) can be used as stir bars without the need of prepared them over any support [ 53 , 54 ]. The continuous and porous structure of the monoliths, together with the magnetic response of the MNPs, offers the possibility of obtaining hybrid and robust macroscopic bars able to rotate in the sample solution in the presence of an external magnetic force.…”

“…However, the current trend is to employ this technique in combination with many novel materials, including restricted access materials, carbon adsorbents, molecularly imprinted polymers, ionic liquids, microporous monoliths, sol-gel prepared coatings, and dual-phase materials [24]. The main advances in various "extraction/stirring integrated techniques", including the source SBSE technique, emphasizing their analytical potential, were also previously reviewed and compared [25].…”
