In accordance with Article 43 of Regulation (EC) 396/2005, EFSA received a request from the European Commission to provide support for the preparation of the EU position for 48th session of the Codex Committee on Pesticide Residues (CCPR). In 2015, JMPR evaluated 12 active substances regarding the setting of toxicological reference values to be used in consumer risk assessment (abamectin, acetochlor, cyazofamid, ethephon, flonicamid, fluazifop-p-butyl, flumioxazin, flupyradifurone, lindane, lufenuron, penconazole, quinclorac) and 27 active substance regarding the setting of Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) (abamectin, acetamiprid, acetochlor, bifenthrin, chlorothalonil, cyantraniliprole, cyazofamid, cyprodinil, difenoconazole, ethephon, flonicamid, fluazifop-p-butyl, flumioxazin, fluopyram, flutriafol, fluxapyroxad, imazapic, imazapyr, imidacloprid, lambda-cyhalothrin, lindane, lufenuron, pyrimethanil, quinclorac, spirotetramat, tebuconazole, trifloxystrobin); additionally, EFSA prepared comments on the specific concerns raised by the EU in the previous CCPR meetings. The relevant findings that should serve as the basis for deriving the EU position for the CCPR meeting are summarised in this report. Scientific support for preparing an EU position for the 2016 CCPR meeting
SummaryFor the preparation of the 48th session of the Codex Committee on Pesticide Residues (CCPR meeting) the European Commission asked EFSA to provide comments on the individual active substances assessed in the 2015 Joint FAO/WHO Meeting on Pesticide Residues (JMPR), in particular on the recommended toxicological reference values and the proposed MRLs at step 3 and 6 of the Codex procedure. In 2015, JMPR evaluated 12 active substances regarding the setting of toxicological reference values to be used in consumer risk assessment (abamectin, acetochlor, cyazofamid, ethephon, flonicamid, fluazifop-p-butyl, flumioxazin, flupyradifurone, lindane, lufenuron, penconazole, quinclorac). EFSA compared the ADI and ARfD values derived by JMPR with the values derived at the EU level and, in case differences were identified, EFSA provided further explanations for the reasons of the differences.Regarding the setting of Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs), JMPR assessed 27 substances (abamectin, acetamiprid, acetochlor, bifenthrin, chlorothalonil, cyantraniliprole, cyazofamid, cyprodinil, difenoconazole, ethephon, flonicamid, fluazifop-p-butyl, flumioxazin, fluopyram, flutriafol, fluxapyroxad, imazapic, imazapyr, imidacloprid, lambda-cyhalothrin, lindane, lufenuron, pyrimethanil, quinclorac, spirotetramat, tebuconazole, trifloxystrobin).EFSA also provided comments on the active substances from specific issues (b...
