“…Cvjeticánin reported that the bands corresponding to uncoordinating ClO 4 − anions, namely, SSIP, can be observed at lower frequency than those corresponding to CIP for 1 M solution of NaClO 4 in PC/H 2 O mixed solvents. 71 Assuming that the spectra of [Na(G4) n ]ClO 4 also exhibit similar behavior, the obtained spectra would imply that SSIP-type solvates predominantly exist in the diluted composition. As mentioned above, for the [Na(G4) n ]ClO 4 system, the presence of 1.4:1 (or 1.5:1) and 1.2:1 phases is suggested from DSC curves (Figure S1, Supporting Information).…”

“…Although an intense band appears at 935 cm –1 for the equimolar composition, it shifts to the low-frequency side in diluted compositions. “…Battisti et al studied the Raman spectra of a concentrated solution of LiClO 4 in PC . They found that the totally symmetric Cl−O stretching mode of the ClO 4 − ion, which is observed at 930 cm −1 , has a shoulder at the high-frequency side (938 cm −1 ) that grows with an increase in the concentration of the salt, and the shoulder was assigned to the contact ion pair . Unfortunately, DMC solvated to Li + ion shows a Raman band around 930 cm −1 , which overlaps with the band of ClO 4 − and prevents analysis of the band of ClO 4 − .…”
