“…The universal effectiveness of radiation to cure soft tissue sarcomas is not a widely accepted tenant of radiation therapists, although often dramatic results in individual cases have occurred (5,10,21,(27)(28)(29)(31)(32)(33)(34)(35). However, useful dose-time fraction data is scarce.…”

There were 50 low grade, well differentiated spindle cell tumors (listed as spindle cell tumors, fibrosarcomas, neurosarcomas), 33 myosarcomas (rhabdosarcomas and leiomyosarcomas), 24 well differentiated liposarcomas (including myxoid liposarcomas), with 10 synovial sarcomas, 8 dermatofibrosarcomas, 8 unclassified tumors, and 9 miscellaneous tumors (3 angiosarcomas, 3 alveolar sarcomas, and 3 other tumors).…”

“…Since the general sarcoma of the bone responds poorly to radiation and is usually regarded as radioresistant,'s. 16 the supportive effectiveness of radiation in these patients might be questioned. However, the patient reported here had no remaining tumor tissue in the specimen radically excised after radiation therapy.…”
