Several workers have reported that among the bacterial pathogens motile Aeromonas has caused high mortality in catfish (Lewis and Plumb, 1979;Meyer, 1975) and induced serious epidemics of ulcerative disease in fish in Southeast Asia and other regions of the world (Angka et al, 1988;Areerat, 1987;Llobrera and Gacutan, 1987;Roberts et al, 1992;Ruangpan et al, 1986).
