Protective effect of placental mesenchymal stem cells on histological changes of pancreas experimentally induced by alloxane in mice

Abstract: In an attempt to find a treatment for diabetes by Placental mesenchymal stem cells, we induced diabetes in albino mice by injected them with the diabetic agent Alloxan intra peritoneal cavity dose 70 mg / kg of body weight for the group 1 and 2, then injection of the diabetic mice with Placental mesenchymal stem cells in the peritoneal cavity for the group 2 then the glucose levels in the blood of these mice were measured by using a GLUCOTREND 2, while group 3 was control injected with normal saline only. “…The histopathological outcomes are authenticating to the findings gotten by previous studies (19,20) they referred that the advantageous effects mesenchymal stem cells on wound healing through the direct and indirect application of these cells to the wound. mesenchymal stem cells have incendiary in the inflammatory, Chen et al (17) recommended that adult stem cells can partake in the repairing and regeneration of tissues damaged through two distinct unmistakable; direct contribution by trans differentiation and creation of tissue ECM or indirect commitment by creation of bioactive proteins of healing tissue, Similar conclusion have been gotten by a study in a murine excisional injury by Duscher et al (20) who revealed that mesenchymal stem cells promotion wound healing by increasing re-epithelization and angiogenesis as well as, mesenchymal stem cells express multiple growth factors VEGF, EGF, TGF, HGF and FGF-2 in a full thickness wound excisional, which direct cells signaling events and tissue repair through stimulate the dermal fibroblasts migration and proliferation, which provide tissue strength and resiliency collagen and elastin and creation of ECM, just as, the significant enhancing of neovasculogenesis withdrawal in any inflammatory process and then promotion the time of healing (21)(22)(23).…”

“…Twenty-four male albino rats 170-200 gram weight were housed in the animal house under the steady status of temperature 24±2°C for three weeks prior to the beginning of the experiment, the animal house under laboratory conditions 12/12 hours light -dark cycle (20,21) and being preserved on a standard water and diet ad libitium (22,23). The animals were treated according to the specific guidelines of the veterinary medicine faculty and the study was approved by the Animal Ethics Committee of the University of Kufa.…”

“…Authors assure that blood-borne diseases accompanied by diminished granulopoiesis and megakaryocytopoiesis in the bone marrow in the infected animal also the erythroid suppression, lymphocytic, monocytic, and macrophage hyperplasia are also found (3,16,17). At the same time, essential studies by Iraqi researchers are adapted to use bone marrow material for treatment in animals with no respect for average values of bone marrow activity (18,19). However, there is no previous study on local calves, so this study aimed to identify the red bone marrow cells in clinically normal calves, counting the myeloid: erythroid ratio and the differential count of myeloid and erythroid series.…”
