There has been little research in Indonesia about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE). Whereas, research on this topic is urgently needed as the baseline for a national evidence-based child protection policy. Even though the worldwide prevalence of ACE is high, there is no comprehensive study in the Indonesian context in regards to ACE identification and the impact on the survivors’ mental and physical health. Therefore, an ACE screening instrument is urgently needed as the first step for conducting research on this topic. This research aims to examine the validity and reliability of the WHO ACE-IQ or the World Health Organization Adverse Childhood Experience International Questionnaire as an ACE screening instrument in Indonesia. The researcher conducted a cross-sectional survey in 240 participants aged 18-65 years old using an online self-administered questionnaire. The outcome of this research is the Indonesian adapted WHO ACE-IQ is able to provide a reliable, accurate, and valid score of ACE in the Indonesian adult population

Kasus kekerasan seksual pada anak semakin hari semakin terasa memprihatinkan sehingga membuat orang tua harus menjadi lebih waspada dalam penjagaan kepada anaknya. penelitian ini membahas perihal pentingnya komunikasi antarpribadi antara orang tua dan anaknya, terutama yang berusia dini untuk memberi pemahaman tentang bagaimana cara untuk mengintervensi dirinya. Komunikasi merupakan salah satu solusi dalam pencegahan kekerasan seksual yang terjadi pada anak. Selain komunikasi dijalin agar suatu keluarga tersebut dapat saling terbuka dan harmonis. Orang tua dapat memberikan perlindungan kepada anak melalui komunikasi yang terjalin antara keduanya agar orang tua dapat membekali dan melindungi anak dari kejahatan yang mengintai anak. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode studi literatur dengan berbagai sumber referensi yang berhubungan dengan topik yang dibahas oleh penulis. Hambatan dalam komunikasi dalam keluarga dapat diatasi dengan menyediakan waktu untuk berkomunikasi, menciptakan sikap keterbukaan, saling menghormati dan menghargai serta sikap mendukung terhadap anak.

Cases of sexual harassment and sexual deviations from year to year are increasing. Many factors cause it, including technological sophistication and ease of access, the existence of a family that does not care and a less sensitive educational environment. Parties who are victims of sexual harassment are usually women, especially children who experience intellectual disabilities. Nearly half of them have experienced 10 times the harassment. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of snakes and ladders media in improving understanding of sex education and preventing acts of sexual abuse and abuse in children who experience intellectual disabilities. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. Research subjects were students who experienced intellectual disabilities at Bekasi Jaya Extraordinary Elementary School. Data analysis was carried out through three main stages, namely reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions. Snakes and ladders media is a game that uses symbols and images reinforced by verbal communication delivered by the teacher. The results showed that the use of snakes and ladders media effectively helped students who experienced intellectual barriers in understanding the messages contained in sex education content.
