Production of Corrosion Inhibitors for Oil Refining Equipment Using Natural Components

Abstract: It is proposed to use plant and animal raw materials to produce corrosion inhibitors of oil refining equipment. The corrosion inhibitors based on vegetable oil and animal fat with di-and triethanolamine have been synthesized, nitrogen-containing corrosion inhibitors have been obtained, their physical and chemical parameters have been determined. By using the gravimetric method the protective effect of the received inhibitors was determined on St20 steel in a two-phase corrosive environment simulating the preli… Show more

“…Its content in crude oil varies from hundredths of a percent to even 14 %. Determination of sulfur in oil and its removal is of great importance, since sulfur compounds have a negative effect on the quality of petroleum products, poison expensive catalysts of oil refining, pollute the environment during combustion, and cause corrosion of equipment [24]. In the oils of the Yablunivsky deposit, the sulfur content is 2.9-3.1 %, which exceeds the sulfur content in the mixture of East-Ukrainian oils by 3.5-3.8 times.…”

“…Reactions between esters and ethanolamines serve mainly for obtaining alkanolamides, as well as aminoesters of carboxylic acids, which are raw materials for producing detergents and cosmetics, pharmaceutical products, fungicides, dyes, corrosion inhibitors, etc. [1][2][3][4] Carboxylic acids also show high reactivity with ethanolamines. [5][6] It is believed, that the main reaction that occurs during the interaction of an ester and amino alcohol is transesterification.…”
