Process Optimization of MTBE Reactive Distillation Using GSA

Abstract: Abstract-In this paper we have used the heuristic search algorithm for the process optimization of Reactive Distillation column. Basically, Process optimization is the manipulation of process variables, so as to optimize some of the parameters without violating the constraints. Gravitational Search Algorithm (GSA) is a new heuristic optimization technique based on law of gravity and mass interactions. This technique is used for process optimization of Methyl-Tert-Butyl-Ether (MTBE) reactive distillation. This … Show more

“…Therefore, our objective was to reduce bagasse waste and increase the value of this waste. MTBE is a small molecule (≈5 Å) which allows it to enter the prepared sugar bagasse AC based on the observed the BET surface area and micropore volume of AC . (Table ).…”

“…Surprisingly, the CH stretching groups appeared at the same band on the IR spectrum of MTBE. MTBE molecules were highly reactive to H‐bonding, which allowed rapid binding to the CH stretching group via a hydrogen bond, leading to increased CH stretching group on bagasse AC after adsorption . The decrease at 800 and 750 cm −1 might be the binding of MTBE molecules with CH stretching group on material surface.…”
