Problematizações das práticas de promoção da saúde a partir do biopoder

Abstract

Este artigo aborda a emergência da promoção de saúde como dispositivo de biopoder, que opera pela medicalização da população, pela educação em saúde, pela economia política e pela segurança. O texto é fruto de um recorte de parte de uma pesquisa histórica e documental, realizada como Tese de Doutorado em Psicologia. Os estudos de Michel Foucault a respeito do biopoder nos auxiliaram a analisar as práticas de promoção de saúde, em seus efeitos de saber e de poder, em um entrecruzamento de forças múltiplas. A prevenção e a promoção de saúde colocam os corpos em uma condição de controle minucioso e totalizante das condutas, compondo um dispositivo. Concluímos, afirmando que a salvação da saúde passa a ser uma verdadeira religião, na atualidade, em um crescente mercado de consumo de tecnologias sociais, com o empresariamento da vida, no neoliberalismo.
