This study aims to reveal the students' attitude towards the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as learning English Media, to describe the level of their ability to use ICT, and to portray their difficulties to apply Internet at universities. This study used quantitative and qualitative (mixed) method which consisted of two data collection techniques: questionnaire and interview. Respondents total 153 students who responded to the questionnaire and participants interviewed were four students from two private universities in Malang, East Java, Indonesia. The findings show that students have positive attitude towards ICT use as media for learning English.The data analysis strengthens the results which indicate that Internet as part of ICT functions helps students to elicit useful information. Of the 99.4% participants respond to the questionnaire which stated strongly agree or agree, its mean score is M = 4.69, and its standard deviation is SD = 0.50. The level of students' ability to apply ICT is good.Moreover, interview data indicates that students face two difficulties to apply ICT such as Internet connection problems and ICT illiteracy. The former is regarding the Internet facility given by the university. The latter deals with the students' incompetence in applying ICT because they have no Internet use experience.

Through the World Wide Web, education has become a ubiquitous service delivered anytime anywhere. Campus-based and without distance learners, higher education institutions attempt to fulfill the requirements of e-learning in conventional course transmission, to prepare students, staff, and educational institutions for the future involvements in educational processes. The study was conducted to examine attitudes of UBT students' in Dahban and Sari campuses towards e-learning by taking (371) students from four colleges and English language center.In sampling techniques, we used the stratified random sampling in choosing the study sample. To gather the primary data from respondents, a well-structured questionnaire, developed by the researchers. The findings indicated that UBT participants' owns a high standard on attitude towards e-learning and their attitude results are significantly vary with their gender, technology usage and skills.

This paper examines the importance of the utilization of the Internet resources for enhancing the self-study of Vietnamese students in improving their English competence. This descriptive study highlights the role of the teachers using the ICT to monitor the process of self-directed English acquisition and analyze the necessity of employing the social networking sites as the main tools in improving the students' English competence. The data was collected through the questionnaires done by both 22 teachers and 74 students randomly chosen. Descriptive quantitative and qualitative analysis were employed to analyze the data collected by using IBM SPSS statistical software. As a whole, the findings reveal that the accessibility and ability to use the social networking sites of both the teachers and the students are very high. However, the teachers failed to support the students in the self-directed English learning utilizing the Internet resources. There is a need to change the curriculum and to retrain the teachers in order to take the best advantages of the digital learning and teaching Second Language Acquisition) (SLA).
