Prime factorization algorithm based on parameter optimization of Ising model

Abstract: This paper provides a new (second) way, which is completely different from Shor's algorithm, to show the optimistic potential of a D-Wave quantum computer for deciphering RSA and successfully factoring all integers within 10000. Our method significantly reduced the local field coefficient h and coupling term coefficient J by more than 33% and 26%, respectively, of those of Ising model, which can further improve the stability of qubit chains and improve the upper bound of integer factorization. In addition, our… Show more

“…In its most relevant field "the current state of quantum computing and progress is highly unlikely to be able to attack RSA 2048 within the next decade" [29]. The algorithmic improvements restrict their usability inside that field; furthermore, they cannot form the basis for general-purpose computers.…”

“…However, universal quantum computers are not good enough for code cracking [8] . Thus, further attention should be paid to the cryptographic applications of the special-purpose quantum computer, D-Wave quantum annealer [9] . The D-Wave device, collaborated with Lockheed Martin Corporation and Google, has been initially used for image processing, combinatorial optimization, and software verification [4,10] .…”

“…In September 2019, Google announced their 54qubit quantum computer called "Sycamore", marked their quantum supremacy [10]. On the other hand, Wang et al (2020) [11] made a milestone achievement in prime factorization with D-Wave's annealing quantum computer.…”
