Preparation and Properties of Highly Electroconductive and Heat-Resistant CMC/Buckypaper/Epoxy Nanocomposites

Abstract: Self-assembled buckypapers have been successfully prepared using sodium carboxyl methyl cellulose (CMC) as a binder. The lowest resistivity that was reached was 0.43 ± 0.03 Ω·m, when the buckypapers were prepared by the same mass of CMC and carboxy-modified carbon nanotubes (CNTs). A heat-resistant electroconductive nanocomposite with epoxy resin as the matrix and CMC/buckypapers as the reinforcement was fabricated by a resin impregnation molding technique. The effects of CMC/buckypaper layers on the conductiv… Show more

“…Also, HPC/PAAm gel peaks moved towards lower temperatures International Journal of Polymer Science when acetaminophen was added. This indicates that the HPC/PAAm gel with incorporated acetaminophen has a lower thermal stability than the pure HPC/PAAm gel, as can be inferred from [37]. From Figure 8 can be observed, besides, that the acetaminophen is stable until some point between 200 and 300°C, and after that, its loss of mass increases rapidly.…”

“…The values of the constant rate k and exponent n obtained for the release of acetaminophen in water and in buffer (PBS) from the HPC/PAAm gel by the Korsmeyer-Peppas model, at the three proposed temperatures (35,37, and 39°C), are presented in Table 1.…”

“…The dexterous properties of the thermosetting plastics have empowered researchers to widen their possible application in a vast range of fields [1][2][3][4]. The enticing properties such as low viscosity (uncured state), customized modulus (according to application), high thermal stability, smooth process ability and their ability to use with fillers has provided impetus in expanding their commercial applications [5]. The recent global thermosetting market implies mushrooming demand of unsaturated polyester (UP)-based composites in industrial and commercial applications.…”

“…Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are very promising materials for electronic and energy storage devices, sensors, biosensors, composites, and transparent conducting films, etc., due to their high specific surface areas, excellent mechanical properties, and good electrical conductivities [1,2,3]. In recent years, individual CNTs have often been assembled into macro/micro structures, such as CNT fibers, CNT films, and CNT arrays, to improve their application [4,5,6]. Among these CNT products, CNT fibers are microsized materials with suitable electrical conductivities, stable electrochemical properties, significant specific moduli, and specific strengths [7,8].…”
