“…[29] An association between age and sleep quality in ESRD patients is also reported by some studies. [182530] In our study, however, age was independently associated with only one of the sleep quality domains, “day dysfunction due to sleepiness.” Although age is found to be independently associated with sleep quality, this association may be, at least in part, mediated by the presence of comorbid diseases, less physical activity, and nutritional status in older patients. [183133] We also found female gender an independent predictor of sleep latency.…”

“…In our study, patients younger than 65 years more often had poorer quality of sleep than older patients, but the difference was not statistically significant. Other studies showed positive correlation between the employment and better quality of sleep in patients on HD, which was not the case in our study, probably due to the extremely small number of working patients (20). Also, no significant correlation has been noticed between the smoking habit and comorbidities and sleep quality, which was shown in earlier researches as well (8,14,19,21).…”

“…Mean serum albumin level of participants was slightly over 3.4 g/dl in both groups (3.6±0.3 g/dl and 3.6±0.4 g/dl, p=0.206) (Table-III). Similarly many studies did not demonstrate a difference 10,21,25,26. Serum creatinine level, which is the renal failure criteria and reflects muscle mass and nutritional status, was significantly different in two groups (good vs poor sleepers) (8.5±1.6 mg/dl and 6.9±2.1 mg/dl, respectively; p=0.043), (Table-III).…”
