“…The Pb isotopic IMF was less than 0.9% and thus negligible (Yang et al. ). The raw isotopic ratios and analytical errors of 204 Pb/ 206 Pb, 207 Pb/ 206 Pb, 206 Pb/ 238 U, and 238 U 16 O 2 / 238 U were extracted from each cycle of the selected regions of interests (ROIs).…”

“…In addition, the NanoSIMS has an obvious advantage on spatial resolution over all sector SIMS instruments. Yang et al has tuned a 1.7‐μm primary beam with an intensity of approximately 500 pA using a NanoSIMS, which has far more density than the primary beam achieved in this study. However, because of the small geometry design and the lack of oxygen flooding technique, the secondary ion sensitivity for Pb + is only approximately 4 cps/nA/ppm, significantly lower than that obtained by IMS‐1280HR in this method (>23 cps/nA/ppm, measured using M257 zircon with 206 Pb concentration of approximately 75 ppm, under condition of O − primary beam combined with oxygen flooding).…”

“…In addition, the NanoSIMS has an obvious advantage on spatial resolution over all sector SIMS instruments. Yang et al 8 NanoSIMS is preferentially chosen to satisfy the high spatial resolution requirement firstly; for beam size >2-μm scale situation, IMS-1280HR can achieve a better precision than that of the NanoSIMS.…”
