Objective: To investigate the relationship between work and quality of life of doctors and nurses in pediatric intensive care units and neonatal.Methods: Cross-sectional study with 37 doctors and 20 nurses. The Job Content Questionnarie (JCQ) e Effort-Reward Imbalance (ERI), and World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL-100) were used. The correlation was estimated by Spearman correlation coefficient.Results: The effort is inversely correlated with the areas physical, psychological, level of independence, environment (p<0.01) and social relationship (p<0.05). The reward is inversely correlated with the areas and psychological (p<0.05) level of independence (p<0.01). Control over the work is directly correlated with the physical domain (p<0.05). The psychological demands are inversely correlated with the areas physical (p<0.05), psychological (p<0.01) and level of independence (p<0.01). The physical demand is inversely correlated with physical areas, level of independence, environmental (p<0.01) and psychological (p<0.05). Job insecurity is inversely correlated with the psychological fields, level of independence (p<0.05) and the environment (p<0.01). Support the supervisor is directly correlated with degree of independence (p <0.05).Conclusion: Doctors and nurses showed high efforts, demands psychological, physical and job insecurity that impact on quality of life.

A busca incessante pela realização de diferentes atividades provoca no homem um aumento das cargas laborais, levando ao aparecimento de doenças físicas, psíquicas e emocionais. Resolveu-se buscar evidências científicas sobre as formas de adoecimento pelo trabalho da enfermagem, bem como as formas para o enfrentamento e prevenção ao adoecimento e acidentes de trabalho. Utilizou-se a revisão Integrativa e a pesquisa foi realizada em bases de dados eletrônicas na área da saúde. Os descritores utilizados foram: doença ocupacional, prevenção ocupacional, trabalhador da enfermagem. Encontrou-se 27 artigos. Percebeu-se que os trabalhadores da enfermagem apresentam dores lombares, injúrias músculo-esqueléticas, sofrem acidentes com material pérfuro-cortante, estresse e tensão no trabalho, sofrem com poluição ambiental e dermatites.

ABSTRACT:The aim of this study was to understand the nursing work organization in long-stay institutions for the elderly and its relationship to pleasure and suffering at work. Data were collected through observation and interviews between April and September 2013 and submitted to content analysis, in light of Dejours' psychodynamics of work theory. Professionals experience suffering as they face physical exertion, a fast-paced work environment and repetitive routines, limited human resources, accumulation of responsibilities and lack of medical service in the institution. Pleasure is experienced through the division of labor among workers, staff's good working relationships, freedom to change the work organization and the possibility of creating a bond with the elderly. The study provides subsidies for planning adequacies in the nursing work organization at these institutions, which will improve the workers' relationship to their work activities. Los datos fueron recolectados por medio de observación y entrevistas, entre abril y septiembre de 2013, y sometidos a análisis de contenido a la luz de la teoría de la Psicodinámica Del Trabajo de Dejours. Los profissionales experiencia el sufrimiento antes de un esfuerzo físico, rutina rápida y repetitiva, escasos recursos humanos, acumulación de responsabilidades y falta de asistencia médica en la institución. El placer se experimenta a través de la división del trabajo entre los trabajadores, las buenas relaciones entre el personal, la libertad de modificar la organización del trabajo y la capacidad para formar enlaces con los ancianos. El estudio apoya la planificación de los ajustes en la organización del trabajo de enfermería en instituciones para personas de edad, la promoción de la mejora de las relaciones entre los trabajadores y sus actividades de trabajo.
