Potentiation of the hypoxic preconditioning effect by antihypoxants

Abstract: The development of effective methods to increase the organism resistance to hypoxia is an important task of current medicine. One of such methods is preconditioning, as a result of which, a potent mobilization of the adaptive organism abilities occurs under a preconditioning factor action. Aim. To study the possibility of potentiating of the hypoxic preconditioning effect with help of antihypoxants. Methods. Evaluation of the effectiveness of combined preconditioning (antihypoxants + moderate hypob… Show more

“…In previous studies, we already demonstrated the neuroprotective effect of combined PreC, where amtizol potentiated the hypoxic action of PreC (Levchenkova et al 2016a, Novikov et al 2019. Amtizol is known for its ability to increase an organism resistance to oxygen deficiency and induce adaptive changes, similar to immediate adaptation to hypoxia.…”

“…It is believed that in order to increase efficiency in conditions of oxygen deficiency, it is necessary to use membrane stabilizers, which reduce heat production and increase the formation of macroergic molecules. In this regard, the use of antihypoxants is the most justified [5,6,7,8].…”
