The objective of this work was to define an early selection strategy to identify Cabralea canjerana (Meliaceae) clones with high multiplication rate. A mini-garden of 109 clones of canjerana seedlings was established in a completely randomized design, in an acclimatized greenhouse. From seedlings, the mini-stumps and mini-cuttings were obtained. Mini-cuttings were collected at five different times, and the number of mini-cuttings per mini-stump, rooting percentage, and number of rooted mini-cuttings were quantified. The number of rooted mini-cuttings per mini-stump was the only trait that showed high correlation with the others. Five groups of clones based on the number of rooted mini-cuttings per mini-stump were separated using k-means clustering, and the genetic gain from selection and Pearson correlation were estimated. The selection of the two best groups in each evaluation period resulted in high genetic gains from selection for all evaluated traits. Early selection for the number of rooted mini-cuttings discarded 65% of the evaluated clones, which increases experimental precision in evaluations of traits associated with plantlet growth and quality. Early selection for the number of rooted mini-cuttings per mini-stump at different times allows the identification of Cabralea canjerana clones with high multiplication rate.

O uso de insumos biológicos capazes de promover crescimento vegetal representa uma alternativa para antecipar a comercialização de mudas florestais em condições de viveiro. A caroba (Jacaranda micrantha) é uma espécie florestal nativa da região sul do Brasil, que apresenta diversos potenciais de uso. O objetivo do trabalho foi analisar a eficiência da utilização de vermicomposto e ou isolados fúngicos do gênero Trichoderma como promotores de crescimento de mudas de J. micrantha. Foram avaliados nove tratamentos contendo diferentes percentuais de vermicomposto (0, 25 e 50%) no substrato padrão (solo peneirado e substrato comercial Carolina Soil® na proporção 1:1), na presença ou ausência de T. asperelloides e T. virens. Utilizou-se delineamento inteiramente casualizado com 18 repetições por tratamento. Aos 90 dias após a semeadura em tubetes, determinou-se: altura da parte aérea, número de folhas, diâmetro do coleto, massa seca da parte aérea e das raízes e índice de qualidade de Dickson. Efeitos significativos de promoção de crescimento foram observados com a aplicação isolada ou combinada de Trichoderma sp. e vermicomposto. A espécie T. asperelloides apresentou efeito superior a T. virens na promoção de crescimento de J. micrantha. Concluiu-se que o uso de vermicomposto e das espécies de Trichoderma sp. avaliadas promoveram o crescimento de J. micrantha, sendo que o uso combinado dos insumos biológicos promoveu incrementos mais pronunciados no crescimento.

The Anonnaceae family has 2,500 species and 135 genera, which has about 14 representatives of species in Brazil, including Pseudoxandra cuspidata. The objective of this research was to study the aqueous-acid extract of P. cuspidata, evaluating its antioxidant, larvicidal, antimicrobial and cytotoxic potential. In the preliminary phytochemical analysis, there were positivity to organicacids and alkaloids. Inhibitory Activity of EAA was 65% against DPPH. The AAE presented to A. Salina nauplii at LC50% of 600.79 μg/mL for a periodof 24 hours. In relation to larvicidal activity to Aedes aegypti intermediates, AAE presented the LC50% in 24 Hours of 475.91 ppm and 290.73 ppm in 48 Hours. Regarding the antimicrobial action, the EAA presented 50 mg/mL MIC for P. Aeruginosa and MBC at 100 mg/mL, and for S. aureus it presented MIC of 50 mg/mL and did not present MBC. This research characterized the presence of alkaloids and organicacids present in the aqueousacid extract of P. cuspidata. The extract presented lowtoxicity in relation to the microcrustacean A. salina. It also had a relevant antioxidant potential (65% of Inhibition), larvicidalaction considered effective, antimicrobialaction for both P. Aeruginosa and S. Aureus even did not present bacterici dalaction.
