“…Their utilisation in city monitoring systems is more promising in view of recent creation of the portable backscatter lidar with eye-safe energy level for environmental sensing. The lidar had been developed in the Space Research Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences by Pershin et al(1992) on the basis ofthe original Lidar-nephelometer for the Mars-98 Balloon and Rover mission.
