Gav&,t, I r i m e s c u : Aromatische [Jahrg. 75 mit 60 ccm n -N a t r o n l a u g e 4 Stdn. auf dem Danipfbad unter RiickfluB erhitzt. Die Losung farbte sich dunkelbraun, spater fielen braune Flocken aus. Von diesen wurde abfiltriert, das Filtrat ausgeathert und mit Salzsaure angesauert. Es schieden sich Plattchen ab, die abgesaugt und aus Benzol-Petrolather umkrystallisiert wurden. Schmp. 78O. 5.609 mg Sbst.: 14.490 mg CO,, 3.220 mg H,O. -0.300 g Sbst.: 21.7 ccm nilo-HCl (Indicator Phenolphthalein). C,H,O,. Bcr. C 70.53, H 5.92, Mo1.-Gew. 136.1. Gef. C 70.46, €1 6.42, Mo1.-Gem. 138.2.0.2 g p -O s y -a -p h e n y l -b u t t e r s a u r e a m i d wurden rnit 10 ccm Wasser und einigeii Tropfen K a l i l a u g e kurze Zeit gekocht. Die wa13r. Losung, die nacli Acetaldehyd roch, gab in der K a l t e die Silberspiegel-Reaktion. Die Hauptmenge der Losung wurde mit 20 ccm einer Losung von 0.1 g 2.4-Din i t r o -p h e o y l h y d r a z i n in 100 ccm 2-n. Salzsaure versetzt. Die gelben Krystalle wurden aus Benzin umkrystallisiert und erwiesen sich durcli Schmelzpunkt und Mischschmelzpunkt als 2.4-D i n i t r 0-p h e n y 111 p d r a z o n des Acet a1 deli yds. 5.37 g -0 x yap h e n y 1 -b 1 1 t t e r s a u r e a mid wurden 118. Ion Gavat und Ion Irimescu: Aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe aus rumanischem Erdol, 11. Mitteil.*): Isolierung von Trimethyl-naphthalinen und Phenanthren. [Aus d. Chem. Analysen-Laborat. d. Techn. Hochschule Bukarest.] Die aromatischen Kohlenwasserstoffe CI3Hl4 wurden zum ersten Male von W1. Markownikov') und Ogloblin im russischen Erdol gefunden.Es gelang diesen Autoren, eine Sulfonsaure zu isolieren, und sie vermuteten, da(3 es sich um ein Propyl-oder Isopropyl-naphthalin handelte.T a m m a n n 2 ) isolierte, ebenfalls aus russischem Erdol, die Sulfonsaure eines Trimethyl-naphthalins mit unbekannter Konstitution. Das Pikrat der Kohlenwasserstoffe (die durch die Zersetzung der Saure erhalten wurden) hatte den Schmp. 119O; aus der Tafel (S. 822) ist aber zu ersehen, da13 keines der bekannten Trimethylnaphthalinpikrate diesen Schmelzpunkt besitzt. Es ist sehr wahrscheinlich, daB hier ein Gemisch von Trimethyl-naphthalinen vorlag.T. Cosciug3) isolierte aus rumanischem Erdol ein Gemisch von Kohlenwasserstoffen C,,HI4 und C,,H,,, die er auch iiber die Pikrate nicht in reinern Zustand isolieren konnte. Durch die Zersetzung der Pikrate erhielt er fliissige Kohlenwasserstoffe und aus diesen einen festen mit dem Schmp. 89-910.Da in der Literatur bis 1939 fur 2.3.6-Trimethyl-naphthalin der Schmp.92-93O angegeben ist, nahm T. Cosciug an, daB es sich um ein nicht ganz reines 2.3.6-Trimethyl-naphthalin handelte.

Der Schmelzpunkt war dann 181,5-152,5O (korr.).3,971 mg Subst. gaben 9,SO mg CO, und 2,44 mg H,O 3,701 mg Subst. gaben 0,196 cm3 N, (22", 720 Ausgehend von dem homologen Pieen vom Smp. 306O, welches bei der Dehydrierung einer Anzahl pentacyclischer Triterpene isoliert werden konnte3), wurde arbeitshypothetisch die Anwesenheit eines hydrierten Pieengeriistes i n den Ausgangsstoffen angenommen.Eine mogliche Verteilung der Seitenketten (Schenm I) ergab sich aus der Konstitution der als Hauptprodukt der Dehydrierung auftretenden homologen Naph talinkohlenwasserstoff e, des 2,li -Dimethyl-, des 1,2,7-Trimethyl-und des l72,5,6-Tetramethyl-naphtslins l) Reichstein, Helv. 9, 799 (1926).
