“…25 Since that time, thousands of publications in which PDA has played a central role have been produced. More recent reviews have highlighted the role of PDA in rechargeable batteries, 26 catalysis 27 and especially in biomedicine. 28,29 These include a focus on nanostructures and interfaces, 15,30 as well as the development of PDA antibacterial surfaces.…”

“…Another important ICP is the PDA, 148 which is obtained by the oxidation of dopamine, a quinone material. PDA is composed by an isomeric mixture of tetramers and octamers induced by a constant redistribution of the electrons from the ketone groups resulting in enhanced specific capacitance.…”

“…Dye to the formation of strong covalent and noncovalent bonds with inorganic and organic surfaces, polydopamine can adhere to almost any material surface for interface modification. There have been a few reports on the battery applications of polydopamine, presenting its use as a separator coating, 43 an active material and binder for an electrode, 44,45 and an additive in liquid electrolyte, but its facilitated ability to suppress anion trapping as a solid polymer electrode additive has not been explored. In this work, zero-dimensional hollow polydopamine (PDA) composite nanospheres were chosen as inactive fillers to provide effective and stable ion transport pathways within the PEO-based electrolyte system.…”
