Indonesia is full of diversity. Therefore, it is necessary to inculcate the value of tolerance considering that the social conditions of the multicultural society have the impact of discriminatory actions, one of which is gender discrimination. This study aims to determine the condition of students' awareness of gender discrimination in the digital era and what actions are appropriate to respond to this level of awareness. This study uses a qualitative research method with an instrument in the form of a questionnaire so that the results of data collection can be discussed in order to find conclusions about answers to the questions that have been mentioned. The results showed that the average knowledge of students about gender discrimination was not that far away and most students still found gender discrimination in their surrounding environment but had never experienced it.

The phenomenon of the minimum number of male kindergarten teachers is increasingly visible in Indonesia, so that people increasingly think that kindergarten teachers are a woman's profession. This results in an imbalance of gender roles in Kindergarten. Discussion of gender-related issues in kindergarten is considered too commonplace and often escapes society's attention. The aim of this research is to describe and analyze gender stereotypes which result in a minority of male teachers in kindergarten. Not only that, this research also provides an alternative view of the role of a man as a teacher in kindergarten. This research is a literature study that uses a qualitative approach. The results of this research are stereotypes that grow and develop in society regarding male kindergarten teachers, including; firstly, kindergarten teachers are attached to feminine traits, while men are attached to masculine traits, secondly, the assumption is that male kindergarten teachers are "gay", thirdly, the kindergarten profession which is not financially promising is not suitable for men who are charged with the role of "backbone", fourth, men must have challenging work, while the profession of kindergarten teacher is a profession that is not challenging and has low risk.

Eachreligion teaches that men and women have equal positions and roles so that in life they can walk side by side and complement each other. In the sense that the roles and jobs that men usually do can be done by women, and vice versa. Women's roles and jobs can also be men who do it. The existence of inequality of position and role between men and women in society stems from the wrong perception of "female nature" with the "role of women" which is always associated with religious rules or provisions. This error in understanding and interpreting the provisions that exist in religious norms and is not comprehensively causes misguidedness and is fatal in the application of society. This misinterpretation then leads to gender bias and leads to discrimination against women's rights. Whereas it has been explained previously in religious teachings, both Islamic and Christian that men and women are created with different types and with their own characteristics, but the treatment of Allah Almighty / God Almighty is not different for both, both are given the same duties and responsibilities as servants of His creation. Then in relation to the conditions of the times that are all regulated by provisions and legislation with reference to the 1945 Constitution article 27 paragraph (1) it is expressly stated that the state provides guarantees of equality, the position of citizens, one of which is the right to equality of position in law and government and is obliged to uphold the law and government with no exceptions. However, some laws and regulations are still considered gender biased, which then in the application in society there are gaps and inequalities in the roles between men and women in realizing their right to participate in advancing development. ABSTRAKSetiap agama mengajarkan bahwa laki-laki dan perempuan mempunyai kedudukan dan peran yang setara sehingga dalam kehidupan bisa berjalan berdampingan dan saling melengkapi satu sama lain. Dalam artian peran dan pekerjaan yang biasa dilakukan laki-laki bisa dilakukan oleh perempuan, begitu juga sebaliknya. Peran dan pekerjaan perempuan pun bisa saja laki-laki yang mengerjakannya. Adanya ketimpangan kedudukan dan peran antara laki-laki dan perempuan di masyarakat berawal dari salahnya persepsi terhadap “kodrat perempuan” dengan “peran perempuan” yang selalu dikaitkan dengan aturan atau ketentuan agama. Kekeliruan dalam memahami dan menafsirkan ketentuan yang ada pada norma agama dan tidak secara komprehensif tersebut menyebabkan salah kaprah dan berakibat fatal dalam penerapan bermasyarakat. Penafsiran yang keliru ini kemudian mengarah kepada adanya bias gender dan berujung menimbulkan diskriminasi terhadap hak-hak kaum perempuan. Padahal telah dijelaskan sebelumnya dalam ajaran agama, baik itu Islam maupun Kristen bahwa lakilaki dan perempuan diciptakan dengan jenis yang berbeda dan dengan karakteristik masingmasing, namun perlakuan Allah SWT/Tuhan YME tidaklah berbeda terhadap keduanya, keduanya diberikan tugas dan tanggung jawab yang sama sebagai hamba ciptan-Nya. Kemudian kaitannya dengan kondisi zaman yang serba diatur oleh ketentuan dan perundangundangan dengan mengacu kepada UUD 1945 pasal 27 ayat (1) diungkapkan secara tegas bahwa negara memberikan jaminan persamaan, kedudukan warga negara, salah satunya adalah adanya hak atas persamaan kedudukan dalam hukum dan pemerintahan dan wajib menjunjung hukum dan pemerintahan itu dengan tidak ada kecualinya. Meski demikian, beberapa peraturan perundangan masih dianggap bias gender yang kemudian dalam penerapan di masyarakat terjadi kesenjangan dan ketimpangan peran antara laki-laki dan perempuan dalam mewujudkan haknya untuk berpartisipasi memajukan pembangunan.
