Phytochemical Investigation ofAnaphalis lactea

Abstract: Four new compounds, 2',6'-dihydroxy-3'-(2-hydroxy-3-methyl-3-butenyl)-4'-methoxychalcone ( 1), 4,6-dihydroxy-7-isobutyryl-5-prenyl-2(3 H)-benzofuranone ( 4), 7- O-(beta- D-glucopyranosyloxy)-5-hydroxy-1(3 H)-isobenzofuranone ( 6) and (2 R,3 S)-3-methyl-2-(5-oxo-2-isopropenylhexyl)-cyclopentanone ( 7), along with thirteen known compounds were isolated from the whole plant of Anaphalis lactea. Their structures were established based on spectroscopic methods including IR, UV, MS, CD, 1 D NMR and 2 D NMR technique… Show more

“…In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), A. sinica Hance has long been used by local inhabitants to treat tracheitis and enteritis 2 . Previous phytochemical investigation of Anaphalis revealed the presence of flavonoids [3][4][5][6] , triterpenoids 5 , furobenzopyranones 7,8 , diterpenes, hydroxylactones 9 , kaempferol, tiliroside and quercetin 6 and several species from the genus Anaphalis showed significant bioactivity 10 . However, according to existed literatures, little tremetone derivatives isolated from Anaphalis have been reported until now and the antifungal activity of these compounds from A. sinica Hance has rarely been studied.…”

“…(Asteraceae) has been commonly used to treat albuminuria, hematuria, acute or chronic nephritis, vaginitis, bronchopneumonia, and gastric ulcer [23]. Anaphalis lactea has long been used for invigorating the circulation of blood and for relieving phlegm and hemostasia [24]. Gentiana siphonantha Maxim., a perennial herb in the Gentianaceae family, has been a traditional Chinese medicine for more than 2000 years for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, jaundice hepatitis, constipation, pain, and hypertension [25,26,27].…”
