PHYSIOLOGICAL RESPONSES OF RABBIT DOES TO Synertox® SUPPLEMENTATION UNDER DIFFERENT HOUSING CONDITIONS DURING SUMMER IN EGYPT

Abstract: A total number of 24 mature New Zealand White (NZW) rabbits, was used in this work to determine some physiological reactions of rabbit does as affected by housing system (indoors versus outdoors housing) during Egyptian summer season conditions. Also, to ameliorate the adverse effects of stressful summer conditions by using highly concentrated nutritional supplement (Synertox® component). The animals were equally and randomly divided into two groups each of 12 does. In each group, 6 does received water plus Sy… Show more

“…During gestation period (13-30 days), the averages of AST and ALT activities were 26.7 and 39.9 U/L, respectively. The present values disagree with those of Ashour et al (2017) who found that the activities of both AST and ALT in primiparous NZW rabbits were 28.50 and 20.28 U/L, respectively.…”

“…Through 13-30 days of pregnancy, the present averages of both BUN and CR concentrations were 52.2 and 0.88 mg/dl, respectively. The present value of BUN is greatly higher than that (16.0 mg/dl) found by Ashour et al (2017)in primiparous NZW rabbit does, meanwhile the CR level (0.88 mg/dl) is almost the same.Days of gestation had obvious effect on both BUN and CR concentrations. With advancement of gestation days, BUN level tended to decrease.…”

“…On the other hand, Synertox ® revealed a marked elevation in the levels of serum AST and ALT at 7 th day post-treatment. These data are similar to the result obtained by Ashour et al, (45) who noticed that addition of Synertox ® also markedLy increase serum AST and ALT compared with control group. This finding was recorded by Li et al, (46) and Abdel-Moneim et al, (47) who reported that serum AST level were markedLy increased in Japanese quails after administration of Bacillus subtilis spores in the diet when compared with nontreated group.…”

“…Liver aminotransaminase enzymes (AST) and (ALT) activities were not significantly affected by treatments. Ashour et al (2017) showed that supplementing Synertox (mainly citric and lactic acid) in drinking water hold no negative effects on liver and kidney functions.…”
