“…Since an alkaline extraction method was used to produce the A. mollis extract in this study, it is possible that the active ingredients(s) in the extract could be fl avonoid glycosides. Moreover, most fl avonoids exist as glycosides or polymers and are thermo stable (21); this is in agreement with our findings that the active ingredient(s) in A. mollis extract have molecular weights between 10 and 30 kDa and exhibit thermal stability.…”

“…This phenomenon can be associated with the hydration state of quercetin. Borghetti et al [42] studied the different crystalline forms of quercetin by high temperature X-ray powder diffraction method. Our samples show identical patterns with their sample called QCTc heat treated at 40 °C, but the exact crystalline structure was not identified.…”

“…As shown in the literature [29], there is some confusion about which crystal is being used in experiments, as the quality and form depend on the chemical supplier and experimentally varying conditions. Indeed, problems were verified while carrying out the experimental part of this work, since both AQ and MQ were employed to prepare Q/MCM-41 complexes and to measure IR spectra of molecules alone.…”
