Physical and mechanical properties of bamboo/flax fibre reinforced epoxy composite water absorption behaviour and high-temperature conditions

Abstract: This paper focuses on the impact of humidity on the physical and mechanical behaviour of the bamboo/flax hybrid fibre-reinforced epoxy matrix composite. Composites made using bamboo fibre, and flax fibre-reinforced epoxy resin is immersed in water at room temperature (25°C) for 60 days and at 85°C for 2 days. The composite undergoes structural and microstructural changes at high temperatures (85°C) in 25 h. At both temperatures, composites that were not treated and treated had the decreased swelling behaviour,… Show more

“…Extracellular polysaccharides or cell wall-associated proteins identified in the biofilm matrix have the ability to stimulate an immune response that protects against S. aureus infection. Resistance to S. aureus can be acquired by active or passive vaccination with surface polysaccharides [41]. In contrast to S. aureus, E. coli bacteria live in the digestive system as part of the microbiota and may be a dangerous adversary.…”

“…[29] Several papers have already been published on the manufacturing and mechanical testing of natural fiberreinforced epoxy composite, including bamboo fiber-reinforced epoxy. [30][31][32][33][34][35][36] Most of these studies focused on tailoring the composite material's mechanical properties; however, to use the bamboo fiber-reinforced epoxy composite in load-bearing applications, characterization of the tribological behavior of the composite is needed.…”
