Photoluminescence characterizations and nonlinear optical of PM-355 nuclear track detector film by alpha-particles and laser irradiation

Abstract: The imaging processing technique was used for studying a laser beam nature that transmitted through films of PM-355. The thermal nonlinearity of PM-355 films was studied using a 635 nm cw diode laser at 15 mW as the source of excitation. Third order nonlinear optical properties of PM-355 films irradiated with α-particles at different times and pristine sample has been studied using Z-scan technique. The samples showed a negative and large nonlinear refractive index and reverse saturable absorption (RSA) with h… Show more

“…Fig. 2 shows The absorption spectrum of the fluorescein dye with different concentration, irradiated with fixed dose of gamma radiation, one week (4.7 KGy) consists of a broad band in the visible , peaking near 487 nm, and anther band to 489nm this absorption peaks is assigned to π -π * transition [16,17]. The absorption intensity is strongly depended on concentration at 80 mM due to color change (see fig 3).…”

“…This is because thermoluminescence dosimeters are tiny and inexpensive, need little field effort, are measured in a laboratory setting, and have acceptable sensitivity, accuracy, and reliability under harsh environmental conditions. Because of their higher degree of accuracy sensitivity, (TLD-200) chips were used for this work (Al-Salihi, Abul-Hail, Badran, & Alfahed, 2022;Alfahed et al, 2020;Alhiall & Alsalihi, 2019;Hassan, Abul-Hail, Badran, & Al-Salihi, 2022). A factory-produced metering container containing 20 dosimeters per batch was used for the calibration and determination of the TL response per m rad (Kellerer, Hahn, & Rossi, 1992).…”

“…A factory-produced metering container containing 20 dosimeters per batch was used for the calibration and determination of the TL response per m rad (Kellerer, Hahn, & Rossi, 1992). A full batch of dosimeters was annealed for 1 h at 400 degrees Celsius, followed by 2 h at 100 0 C (Al-Salihi et al, 2021;Alfahed et al, 2019;Bdran et al, 2020;Bujdosó, 1987;Ramadhan, Al-Salihi, & Khalaf, 2020). This treatment also improves the dosimeter's sensitivity.…”

“…There are a few materials that are particularly noteworthy, such as ceramics [6], blocks made of concrete [7,8], materials for building that are cementations [9] materials that give nonlinear behaviour [10][11][12][13][14], shielding materials [15] and nuclear track detector [16,17]. These materials are found permanently in structures that are located in close proximity to radiation incidents.…”
