Photoacoustic Spectra of Pr3+, Nd3+, Gd3+ Acetate Complexes

Abstract: Acetate ComplexesThe crystals of the complexes Pr(Ac), ' 4 H,O, Nd(Ac), . 4 H,O, Gd(Ac), . 4 H,O were synthesized and their Pa spectra determined firstly. Their PA spectra and absorption are interpreted. The fluorescence properties of Pr3+, Nd3+, Gd3 + and the relaxation process models were studied by their PA spectra.

“…Most oxalate compounds have shown to exhibit interesting applications such as precipitation agent [6], precursor for superconductive oxides [7], nano particles synthesis [8,9], magnetic and luminescent devices [10][11][12]. In addition, microporous oxalate materials have open-framework structure and are layered with honeycomb like apertures [13].…”

“…The interesting physical properties of rare earths have drawn the attention of material scientists (Eyring 1964) and a variety of materials containing rare earths have gained recognition for their magnetic and luminescent properties (Kotru and Raina 1986;Galczynski and Strek 1991;Zhang Yugeng et al 1993). The ionic conductivity of rare earth oxalates [R2(C204)3"nH20 ] (R=Nd, Pr, Sm,..) has initiated much interest besides its easy conversion into the corresponding oxides (Mohan Rao and Jagannatha 1991).…”
