resumo -No perímetro irrigado do Jaíba, no norte de Minas Gerais, existem relatos sobre a presença de alguns genótipos de banana'Prata-Anã' supostamente tolerantes ao mal-do-panamá, nos quais a doença não se estabeleceu após 15 anos de cultivo, mesmo na presença do patógeno. Portanto, objetivou-se avaliar a diversidade genética, o desempenho agronômico e o comportamento dos clones da bananeira'PrataAnã' cultivada em área com histórico do mal-do-panamá. Foram coletados vinte e quatro genótipos, 11 caracterizados no momento da coleta como doentes (GEN 1, GEN 2, GEN 3, GEN 4, GEN 5, GEN 6, GEN 7, GEN 8, GEN 9, GEN 10 e GEN 11) e 13 aparentemente sadios (GEN 12, GEN 13, GEN 14, GEN 15, GEN 16, GEN 17, GEN 18, GEN 19, GEN 20, GEN 21, GEN 22, GEN 23 e GEN 24). Estes materiais foram multiplicados em laboratório de cultura de tecidos e levados para plantio na área experimental. Foram avaliados 24 tratamentos (clones de bananeira 'Prata-Anã'), no delineamento em blocos casualizados, com três repetições, 20 plantas por parcela e as seis centrais consideradas como área útil. Avaliaram-se, além da diversidade genética, comprimento e diâmetro do pseudocaule, número de folhas, massa do cacho, das pencas e do engaço, número de pencas e de frutos, comprimento e perímetro do fruto central da segunda penca, porcentagem de plantas mortas, incidência e severidade do mal-do-panamá. A distância genética média entre os clones foi de 43,5%, variando de 11,8% a 85%. Os indivíduos GEN 12, GEN 13, GEN 19 e GEN 22 apresentam maiores diâmetros do pseudocaule ao nível do solo e a 30 cm, e foram mais altos. Agronomic performance of Banana ‘FHIA 18’ in response to phosphate fertilization

Phosphorus (P) use efficiency can be improved for banana (Musa ssp.) crops. The recommended phosphate fertilization rates can be reduced, depending on the cultivated genotype. The goal of this study was to identify the most appropriate P fertilizer recommendation for the banana cultivar FHIA 18. The rates of P applied in three production cycles were as follows: 0 (without fertilization), 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60 kg ha −1 of P 2 O 5 yr −1 . The cultivar FHIA 18 requires an application of 55% of the recommended P fertilization (22 kg ha −1 P 2 O 5 ) in the second and third cultivation cycles to reach maximum growth because of the increased pseudostem diameter. The results showed an increase in available soil P with increasing levels of phosphate fertilizers. Furthermore, the maximum P content in diagnostic leaves was obtained with 90% of the recommended phosphate fertilization rate (36 kg ha −1 of P 2 O 5 yr −1 ).Yield increased with increasing P 2 O 5 levels, reaching a maximum value (62.93 kg −1 plant −1 yr −1 ) with a lower P 2 O 5 level than that recommended for other banana cultivars in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The characterization and evaluation of banana genotypes (Musa spp.) is an important step both for breeding programs and for indication to farmers. Thus, the objective of this work was to evaluate banana genotypes in Rio Branco-Acre, aiming at their incorporation into the region 's production systems. The experiment was carried out in a randomized complete block design in a subdivided plots scheme with five replicates and four plants per plot. The treatments of the plots were the three production cycles, and the subplots were the nineteen banana genotypes. We evaluated plant's height; perimeter of the pseudostem base; number of active leaves at the inflorescence and harvesting stage; the period from planting until flowering, the period from flowering until harvest and period from planting until harvest; the mass of the bunch, the total number of fruits per bunch; the number of pieces; productivity. The genotypes Thap Maeo, FHIA-02, FHIA-18, and Maravilha, present the best agronomic performance and have the potential to be incorporated into the banana production system in the edaphoclimatic conditions of the Rio Branco, Acre region.
