The elderlies without partners have 7.753 times the chance of presenting excess weight when compared to those with partners. Having an income higher than a minimum wage represents 6.014 times the chance of being overweight. Not having health problems amounts to 0.015 times the chance of being overweight. In the motorperformance, not presenting limitation of balance represents 6.785 times the possibility of being affected by excess weight.

PERFIL NUTRICIONAL E DIETÉTICO DE IDOSOS ATENDIDOS NAS ESTRATÉGIAS DE SAÚDE DA FAMÍLIA DO NORTE DE MINAS GERAIS RESUMOO objetivo deste trabalho é descrever o perfil nutricional de idosos atendidos nas Estratégias de Saúde da Família (ESF) do município de Montes Claros-MG. Trata-se de um estudo transversal e abordagem quantitativa, constituída por idosos com idade superior a 60 anos, de ambos os gêneros, que buscaram tratamento e cuidados nos serviços de saúde. As seguintes variá veis foram analisadas: idade, gênero, peso, estatura, índice de massa corporal e es tado nutricional, sendo este último analisado, tendo como referência o índice de massa corporal (IMC) calculado com base na divisão do peso corporal em quilogramas pela esta tura em metro elevada ao quadrado (kg/ m 2 ). A amostra foi composta por 126 idosos, sendo que 73,02% eram mulheres e apenas 26,98% homens. A idade predominante foi entre 60 a 69 anos, representando 64,28%. De acordo com a avaliação, grande parte dos idosos foi classificada como eutróficos (41,0%) e a prevalência foi maior no sexo masculino (52,94%). As mulheres analisadas possuíam ingestão calórica muito maior do que o recomendado, assim como o consumo de proteína e lipídeos. A ingestão de fibras, vitaminas e minerais também se encontrava inadequada para ambos os sexos. Os resultados obtidos neste estudo refletem um dese quilíbrio no consumo alimentar dos idosos que frequentam as ESF. PALAVRAS-CHAVE: ConsumoAlimentar; Estado Nutricional; Saúde do Idoso. ABSTRACTThe objective of this work is to describe the nutritional profile of elderly persons attended in the Family Health Strategy (FHS) of the municipality of Montes Claros, MG. This is a cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach, consisting of elderly people over 60 years of age, of both genders, who sought treatment and care in the health services. The following variables were analyzed: age, gender, weight, height, body mass index, and nutritional status, the latter being analyzed based on body mass index (BMI), calculated by dividing body weight in kilograms by height in meters squared (kg/m 2 ). The sample was composed of 126 elderly persons, with 73.02% women and just 26.98% men. The predominant age was between 60 and 69 years, representing 64.28%. According to the evaluation, many participants were classified as eutrophic (41.0%), and the prevalence was higher in males (52.94%). The women analyzed had a much higher caloric intake than recommended, as well as their consumption of protein and lipids. The intake of fiber, vitamins, and minerals was also inadequate for both sexes. The results obtained in this study reflect an imbalance in the dietary consumption of the elderly who are attended by the FHS.

A B S T R A C T ObjectiveTo analyze the association between excess abdominal fat and healthcare costs related to hypertension and diabetes Mellitus in older adults. MethodsThese cross-sectional analyses are part of the Health, Wellbeing and Aging Study conducted in São Paulo, Brazil, with 806 older adults with self-reported hypertension and diabetes Mellitus. The study included the annual costs with medicines, hospital admissions, and outpatient services for hypertension and diabetes Mellitus control. Excess abdominal fat was diagnosed based on waist circumference. Level of physical activity, age, and gender were considered covariates. The sample was divided into two groups according to waist circumference. Multiple logistic regression analyzed the associations between annual costs and waist circumference. ResultsThe cost of services and hospitalizations (R$551.05; 95%CI=418.27-683.83) and total costs (R$817.77; 95%CI=669.21-966.33) were higher in the excess abdominal fat group.
