This study aimed to solve the reproductive problems in crossbred cows suffering from ovarian hypofunction (HPO). Twenty-four cows were divided into four treatments with six replications, treatment A concentrate feed (control); treatment B: control + premix; treatment C control + two boluses, and treatment D control + four boluses. The experimental period was 42 days (two estrous cycles). The bolus formulation consisted of vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, zinc, Moringa oleifera and alginate powder. Data analysis using oneway ANOVA with a Completely Randomized Design. The results showed that the lowest number of follicular palpations in cows suffered from HPO was 67% compared to 83% premix administration, while all cows given bolus were obtained follicular palpation or cured 100%. The results showed that the follicle diameters of the four treatments were not significant difference, but the results of rectal palpation were almost palpable, except treatment A on day 21 that could not be palpated on the left follicle and no corpus luteum was found, whereas in treatments B, C and D partially luteal phase were found. It was concluded that the best treatment of HPO in cows suffered from HPO was by providing two boluses, and was administered twice a week.

This study aims to determine the response of superovulation, corpus luteum number, onset and duration of estrus in Swamp Buffalo after administration of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) and Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone (GnRH). The material used is 16 mother Swamp Buffaloes with an average body weight of 500 kg and age between 3-5 years. The dairy performance index such as the lactation period was 127.5±104.6 days, the milk production accounted for 2.0±0.9 kg/cow/day and the milk yield was 255±209 kg/lactation. The experimental design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of four replications. Swamp buffaloes are synchronized with 5 mL of PGF2α injection. GnRH hormone injection on the 8th day at a dose of 500 µg with 2 times in the morning and evening. FSH injection begins on the 10th day with 2 times a day i.e., morning and night (12 h interval) with a dose decreased for 3 days intramuscularly. Artificial insemination was carried out after signs appear estrus. The parameters observed include the superovulation response, the number of corpus luteum, the onset and duration of estrus in the Swamp Buffalo. The results obtained are the superovulation response in 56.25% Swamp Buffalo. The average number of corpus luteum, speed and duration of swamp buffalo estrus at different FSH doses and addition of 500 μg GnRH were 1.75, 20.25 and 145.75 h respectively. It was concluded that superovulation by administering a dose of 16 ml FSH + 500 μg GnRH has shown the best superovulation response and a long duration of estrus. The administration of 22 mL FSH dose and the addition of 500 μg GnRH showed the fastest onset of estrus.

Pemberdayaan kelompok tani ternak sapi Pasundan melalui aplikasi teknologi reproduksi telah dilakukan di desa Situmandala, Rancah, Ciamis. Metode pendekatan dilakukan 2 (dua) tahap. Tahap pertama digunakan metode instruksional untuk memberikan informasi materi penyuluhan dan peragaan. Tahap kedua digunakan metode percontohan untuk mengaplikasikan paket teknologi reproduksi pada 18 ekor sapi Pasundan. Seluruh ternak sapi disinkronisasi berahi dengan disuntik 5 mg i.m. prostaglandin per ekor sebanyak 2 (dua) kali dengan selang 11 hari, kemudian pada hari ke-9 setelah penyuntikan PGF2α yang pertama, sapi percobaan dibagi kedalam 2 (dua) kelompok. Kelompok I sebanyak 12 ekor sapi diberi perlakuan Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone (GnRH) dosis 1,25-2,5 ml/bobot badan secara i.m. Kelompok II digunakan 6 ekor sapi diinjeksi NaCl Fisiologis 1,25-2,5 ml/bobot badan secara i.m. sebagai kontrol. Ternak sapi berahi diinseminasi buatan 2 kali dengan selang 6 jam. Peubah yang diamati meliputi persentase berahi dan kebuntingan secara palpasi rektal. Disimpulkan bahwa animo peternak dalam mengadopsi teknologi reproduksi sangat tinggi, terbukti 92 % peternak telah mengetahui tanda-tanda berahi sapi Pasundan. Rataan persentase berahi sapi Pasundan yang diberi prostaglandin F 2 α mencapai 62,5 % dengan laju kebuntingan meningkat 147,49% pada kelompok sapi yang diberi GnRH (83,33%) dibandingkan kontrol (33,67%).
