The application of a literacy culture can have an impact on strengthening the character of elementary school students. A literacy culture that is instilled early in elementary school can continuously form good character in elementary school children. This study aims to determine the impact of literacy culture on the responsible character of students in the 21st century. The research study was conducted using a quantitative approach using the ex post facto method. The population in this study were 87 students from SD Negeri Bawakareang I Makassar City from grades 4, 5 and 6, while the sample consisted of 55 students obtained by random sampling technique. The data collection method used a questionnaire and was analyzed using SPSS 21. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that a literacy culture of 55% was in the very influential category and the character of responsibility was in the very good category with a percentage value of 53. The results of the inferential analysis showed that there was an influence of literacy culture on the character of the participants' responsibilities students in the 21st century by obtaining a value of Sig 0.000 as determined by Sig (0.000) < (0.05) so that H0 is rejected and H1. The implications of this research are (1) Teachers should pay attention to the media used as teaching materials; (2) Students who are digitally literate must be motivated to develop their learning outcomes (3) A literacy culture can foster an interest in reading and have an impact on the character of responsibility; (4) For other researchers, they can conduct studies outside the culture of literacy and character of responsibility.

Digital literacy must be instilled as early as possible, even in elementary schools (SD). However, the facts on the ground show that digital literacy in elementary schools has not been implemented effectively. Some schools still encounter obstacles, one of which is caused by the limitations of digital literacy tools or media in schools. This obstacle was also experienced by the Baturan Special Program Muhammadiyah Elementary School (PK) and the Muhammadiyah Plus Elementary School Malangjiwan. Basic digital literacy skills, such as typing in Microsoft Word, have not been fully mastered by students. In fact, these skills are very important in this digital era. This community service is carried out by providing direct assistance to students to practice typing in Microsoft Word. The stages in this activity are starting from observation, pre-test, to post-test in the form of typing practice. The hands-on mentoring method allows students to learn to type and recognize the features and uses of Microsoft Word. The results of this dedication show that there has been an increase in students’ competence in understanding Microsoft Word, providing real experience for students to practice typing, and can grow good digital literacy. This activity is carried out with the hope that in the future, students who already have the initial ability to type from the results of this service, can continue to practice and the school can support it by continuing this kind of activity program through a digital literacy program on an ongoing basis.

This study aims to explore the impact of digital literacy on Indonesian language development. Digital literacy is becoming increasingly important in the current digital era, with its widespread influence on various aspects of life including language. This research uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach to explain in depth and comprehensively about the influence of digital literacy on Indonesian language development. The descriptive method allows researchers to collect and analyze data in the form of words, pictures, and information from books, journals, and other relevant scientific works. This is in line with the research objective to gain an in-depth understanding of how digital literacy affects the use and development of Indonesians in various contexts. The results of this study show that the prospects and implications of digital literacy in the development of Indonesia, confirm the importance of using information and communication technology (ICT) to improve language skills. Digital literacy provides quick and broad access to various sources of information and learning materials in Indonesian, enabling users to create and share creative content on various digital platforms. In addition, digital literacy supports collaboration and social interaction, enables more innovative teaching methods, and increases awareness and appreciation of the Indonesian language.
