The aims of this study were: 1) to analyze the household income of crab fishermen, 2) to analyze the household expenditures of crab fishermen, 3) to analyze the welfare level of crab fishermen based on the fisherman’s exchange rate indicator (FER), and 4) to analyze the socio-economic factors that affect the welfare of fishermen’s households. Crabs based on FER indicators in East Lombok Regency. This research uses a descriptive method. In addition to interviews with respondents, the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) method was also conducted. Respondents in this study were small fishermen. The number of respondents was determined to be as many as 30 people by Simple Random Sampling. Analysis of the data used is a descriptive analysis based on tabulation, and after processing, it is then presented in tabular form, analysis of cost and income analysis, and analysis of income and expenses as well as multiple Linear Regression analysis. The results showed: 1) The household income of crab fishermen is IDR 27,046,415 per year, which comes from income from crab catching IDR 19,492,091, fishing for IDR 4,138,324, income as laborers IDR 1,116,000, other sources IDR 2,300,000, 2) The household expenditure of crab fishermen is IDR 15,098,533 per year, which includes food expenditure of IDR 6,922,800 and non-food expenditure of IDR 8,175,733, 3) The Fisherman’s Exchange Rate (FER) for crab fishermen is 1.86. in the indicators of prosperity, and 4) The factors that significantly affect the welfare level of small crab fishermen are household income and expenditure, while the level of education, experience and number of family dependent are not significantly different.

Tujuan penelitian adalah 1) mengetahui karakteristik nelayan kecil, 2) menganalisis pendapatan nelayan dan 3) menganalisi faktor sosial ekonomi yang mempengaruhi pendapatan nelayan kecil di Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dan pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik survey, yaitu wawancara langsung dengan responden dengan berpedoman pada daftar pertanyaan yang dibuat terlebih dahulu. Penelitian dilaksanakan tahun 2021, meliputi Kecamatan Sekongkang dan Kecamatan Jereweh, dilakukan secara purposive sampling atas dasar jumlah nelayan kecil yang terbanyak. Sementara itu dipilih desa sampel yaitu Desa Aik Kangkung mewakili Kecamatan Sekongkang, Desa Pasir Putih dan Desa Benete mewakili Kecamatan Maluk dilakukan secara Purposive Sampling atas dasar jumlah nelayan kecil yang terbanyak. Metode penentuan responden dilakukan secara sensus dengan seluruh responden sebanyak 28 orang, yaitu 10 orang di Desa Aik Kangkung, Desa Pasir Putih 6 orang dan Desa Benete 8 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan : 1) Karakteristik nelayan kecil yaitu: kelompok usia produktif, didominasi berpendidikan rendah, tanggungan keluarga 1-6 orang, memiliki pengalaman sebagai nelayan 5- 25 tahun, 2) Pendapatan nelayan kecil rata-rata sebesar Rp 1.747.930 per bulan dengan biaya produksi Rp 2.282.071 per bulan, produksi 96 kg/bulan dan harga ikan Rp 24.844 per kg, dan 3) Faktor sosial ekonomi yang berpengaruh nyata terhadap pendapatan nelayan kecil adalah jumlah trip penangkapan, produksi ikan, harga ikan, dan biaya produksi, sedangkan umur, tingkat pendidikan, jumlah tanggungan keluarga dan pengalaman nelayan tidak berpengaruh nyata.

Climate change is a natural phenomenon that occurs all over the world and has a negative impact on many sectors, one of which is the fishery sector. One of the communities that are most vulnerable to the impact of climate change is the fishing community in coastal areas. Fishermen depend on the availability of fish in the sea, as well as the weather and other aspects related to climate and nature. This study aims to identify the fishermen's efforts and adaptation strategies towards climate change. Data collection was carried out from July to August 2020 in Limau Sub-District, Tanggamus Regency with a total respondent number of 80 fishermen households. Respondents were determined through the approach of simple random sampling. The data collected consisted of both qualitative and quantitative data. Data collection was performed through the method of survey, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and interviews with key informants. Data collected was analyzed using the Qualitative Descriptive approach. The results of the study show that fishermen in Limau Sub-district have made some adaptations to climate change in coastal areas through income diversification, diversification of fishing gear, migration, and social network development among fishermen
