This study aims to produce a learning device in the form of a physics module based on SETS that is valid and practical to improve students' conceptual understanding. The type used in this research is Research and Development (R&D). Subjects of this study were teacher and students of class XI MIA 1 with a total of 31 subjects. The research procedure is the 4-D model, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. Due to time and cost limitations, this research is limited to the develop stage. The research instrument used was a validity questionnaire, practicality, and a description of the conceptual understanding. Furthermore, data obtained were analyzed to see the validity and practicality of the module as well as an assessment of students' conceptual understanding of dynamic fluid material. The level of understanding of students' concepts is seen from the aspects of interpretation, exemplifying, explaining, and comparing. The results showed that the physics module based on the SETS developed was categorized as very valid with an average of 82.16 and in the very practical category with a percentage of 84.29. Then for understanding the concept of students obtained a score of 94.67 in the interpretation aspect, 86.98 in the exemplary aspect, then 81.10 and 86.61 respectively for the aspects of explaining and comparing. Learning using a physics module based on SETS is very good to be applied in order to improve students' conceptual understanding of dynamic fluid material. This was proven by the increase in students' understanding of concepts in every physics learning meeting on dynamic fluid material.

Biology learning modules used in MAN 1 Payakumbuh do not have color and do not used the SETS approach, whereas Biology learning on environmental change material is very suitable with the SETS approach, so that students are less motivated in reading the learning material in the module. Based on this problem, the module should be colored with an attractive appearance. In this development research designed modules that are SETS-based (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) using colored images, especially in the material of environmental change with the aim of producing SETS-based Biology modules (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society for students class X MAN 1 Payakumbuh is valid and practical.This research is Research and Development research. Development procedures using a 4-D (four D) model design research, define, design, develop and disseminate In the development stage, the module was validated which was developed by 3 validators using a validation questionnaire sheet and to see the practicality of the module developed, the questionnaire used was the response of teachers and students 80.21% with valid criteria, practical results through filling The teacher response questionnaire obtained an average of 90.29% which is classified as a very practical criterion. Practical results through filling out the questionnaire responses of students on average by 88.61% with very practical criteria. Thus, it can be concluded that the Biology module based on SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) that has been developed has valid quality and is practically used by teachers and students, so that it is feasible to be used as a Biology module in the material of environmental change.Keyword: Enviromental change, Module, SETS Approach

Developing students' abilities in science is one of the successful means of increasing their ability to adapt to changing times and enter the world of science, environment, technology, and social life. This study aims to analyze the application of the SETS vision of a constructivist approach to science learning in Class X SMA Negeri 3 Pematang Siantar . SETS (science, environment, technology and society) insightful learning that connects and links the theory learned with its application in the form of technology, its impact on society and the environment as well as social is a form of business that has real and contextual characteristics . This research is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental method with nonequivalent control group design. The research sample was determined by purposive sampling technique which was divided into 2 classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The data analysis technique used is the independent sample t-test. The results of the study found that the use of animated video-based learning media was very effective in applying to the physics learning process in terms of the posttest questions and the gain test scores also increased by 0.71 in the experimental class and 0.57 in the control class which was included in the medium category. So it can be concluded that the constructivism learning model is effective in improving physics learning outcomes.
