Herrn Professor Dr. Dr. h. e. Erich Correns zur Volkndung des 85. Lebensjahres gewidmt Aus Untersuchungen zum Reaktionsverhalten der Monomere bei der mit HClO, initiierten Cooligomerisierung in Substanz wurden die Bedingungen fur eine optimale Synthese definierter Cooligoacetaldiole abgeleitet. Ermittelte Copolymerisationsparameter fuhrten zur Berechnung durchschnittlicher mittlerer Sequenzlangen. Daraus wurde ein Model1 der oligomeren Block-co-acetaldiole bzw. daraus erhaltlicher Polyurethane entwickelt, mit dessen Hilfe der stark ausgepragte, hydrophile Charakter von Diolen und Polyurethanfolien mit bestimmter Zusammensetzung erklart werden kann. The synthesis of co-oligo-acetaldioles obtained from mixtures of 1,3,6-tri-oxacyclooctane and 1,3-di-oxa-ycloheptaneBy investigating the reactivity of the monomers in the cyclooligomerization reaction in bulk, initiated by HClO, the optimum conditions of synthesis of defined co-oligo-acetaldioles were established. Average values of the mean sequence length were calculated from the copolymerization parameters obtained. Based on these results a model of blockcoacetaldioles and the resulting polyurethanes was developed that explains the significant hydrophily of dioles and polyurethane films of defined composition. , -A

Herrn Professor Dr. Dr. h. c. Hermann Klare zum 75. Geburtstag gewidmet Durch kationische Polymerisation in Masse werden Oligoformale rnit einer definierten chcmischen Struktur erhalten. Durch geeignete Wahl ihrer Zusammensetzung und die Art der Reaktionsfuhrung konnen spczielle Eigenschaften der Oligomere erreicht werden. Die bei Kettenabbruch rnit wal3rigem Alkali erhaltlichen oligomeren Formaldiole sind fur die Umsetzung rnit Di-und Triisocyasaten geeignet. Polyurethanfolien aus Formaldiolen verfugen bei hohem Trioxocananteil uber ein sehr hohes Wasseraufnahmevermogen und eine hohe Durchlassigkeit fur Wasserdampf. Principles of the application of formaldiole oligomersOligoformales of determined chemical structure were prepared by cationic bulk copolymerization. Specific properties of these oligomers were obtained by changing the composition and reaction conditions. The formaldiole oligomers formed by termination with aqueous alkali were found to react with di-and triisocyanates. Polyurethane films obtained from formaldioles contain high amounts of trioxocane and are characterized by high water retention and water vapour permeability. Compositions containing bromobutenediolformalpolyoles impart permanent flame resistance to polyurethane foams.
